Report to: China SCM Director and Global Quality Director

Job Description

1. China supplier quality leader is responsible to define and execute strategies to guarantee supplier quality targets achievement , for products produced , imported and exported from China .Acts as the interface between the quality function & local sales , engineering , manufacturing , purchase and product support teams .

2. Scope is inclusive of Tenneco plants in China

3. Ensure the supplier quality of products through their entire life cycle

4. Monitor suppliers’ implementation of quality standards & tools in accordance with company policies;

5. Organize regular global sourcing program review meeting and provide support, summarize the monthly report;

6. Involve in critical and top worst supplier quality problem solving;

7. Train supplier and team member for quality tools and ASQA process;

8. Make sure supplier meet commodity sourcing strategy.

9. Promotes & support local team activities to improve current supplier issues requiring product improvement programs in the market.

10. Lead the quality project plan definition and agree targets with local partners securing a Consensus-Based decision.

11. Ensure consistency and completeness of proactive activities along product development / engineering: FMEA , PFMEA , Design for Manufacturability , Simultaneous Engineering , DoE (Design of Experiment) , etc…

12. Ensure supplier’s Product and Process validation through an evaluation of production trial runs , asses the Production Control Plan feasibility and validates final product & process staus.

13. Confirms alignment with APQP.

14. Ensure adherence to project management milestones

15. Drive consistency on process and methodologies across product lines, regions and product support organizations

16. Ensure alignment of local Quality Systems with Tenneco global and china strategy , policies and practices

17. Secures local products consistently meeting the required standards at destination markets.

18. Develop and maintain supplier systems to measure performance against established standards for products / Imported to /exported from / domestic China.

19. Manage Internal quality audits , for system , processes and product , calling for central team support as necessary.

20. Report as necessary on changes in standards (internally and externally initiated) .

21. Support the deployment of VAVE initiatives.

22. Plan and manage departmental activities in accordance with agreed budgets and timescales.

23. Manage staff according to company standards (appraisals, discipline, training, development, etc).

24. Support the regions in the achievement of their objectives .

25. Secures the alignment of quality management targets with region's annual business plan and long term strategy.

26. Establish and implement necessary communication strategy for the improvement and awareness of quality issues.

27. Liaise with customers and suppliers where necessary (where impacting/affected by quality issues)

28. Drive optimization across product lines to improve results, efficiency and speed

29. Determine , negotiate and agree quality targets within the region.

30. Monitor performance , according to agreed standards , and take necessary action to communicate/advise/assist according to performance levels.

The Successful Applicant

1. At least 10 years of professional experience on a key in quality management position.

2. Audit experience / certification as per ISO / TS 16.949 ,, ISO 14001 Environmental standards, and ISO 9000 quality management standards

3. Be strategic, methodical, logical and detail oriented .Have good supervisory, management and networking capabilities.Be extremely professional, customer friendly and amenable. Technical background withexperience in a technical service related activity or engineering

4. Degree or equivalent in Mechanical or related Engineering

5. Logical and rigorous problem solving approach.

6. Project management experience in a multicultural environment , planning & management through milestones.

7. High level of autonomy , Team player , excellent communicator

8. Additional job requirements

9. Language skills: English as a primary requirement.

10. Thorough, in-depth knowledge of the designated products

11. High level of flexibility (international travel, seasonal effect on availability)

12. At least five years supplier management experience;

13. Knowledge of TS16949 and good application on APQP, PPAP, SPC, FMEA and MSA is must;

14. Strong leadership;

15. Strong manufacture process experience;

16. Working experience at manufacture plant is a plus;

17. Strong communication skill and teamwork;
