This is a Sourcing Engineer role, reporting to Procurement & Logistics Specialist in Business Area – Robotics & Discrete Automation, Business Function Operations, Quality & HSE located in Shanghai, China.

- Making sure the process is in compliance with ABB company’s policy, maintaining the key supplier’s base for the dedicated commodity, commodity price listing maintenance for the key suppliers, working on PO control, including material following up.
- Leading commercial negotiation with suppliers and making sure we have the most competitive price, coordinating between Project Team/SCM/Suppliers, coordinating with GCM for GFA negotiation and signing.
- Checking that cost saving and payment terms target are complying with SCM target for the commodity assigned, supporting SCM OTD target.
- Preparing and implementing catalog key commodity strategy by good cooperation and communication with project team, engineering, etc.
- Understanding and using SAP & PR/PO system, giving suggestions to improve SCM process.
- Further analyzing as required to create a big picture on the responsible commodity supplier base position for ABB vs market i.e. competitor, customer etc., making sure we have competitive price in the market
- Living ABB’s core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues and the business.

- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or business management.
- 3-5 years of mechanical or electrical product purchasing/sourcing experience, experience of working as design engineer and quality engineer a plus.
- Experience with international terms of trade and payment, experience with ISO standards and quality certification processes.
- Excellent English skills (spoken and written)
- Must be highly skilled at MS office.
- Must have the ability to influence while negotiating and the charisma to engage and motivate people, should be a good presenter with “Can Do” attitude and should have strong ability for coordination and drive cross function team.
- Should have an open mind, willingness to learn and ability to learn, can be “friendly” to colleagues.
