Responsibilities:

1. Design mechanical components and sub-assemblies including formed metal parts, injection molded rubber/plastic components, labels,  machined/cast metal parts, structural items, fans, fasteners, gaskets, clips, and other hardware.

2. Develop relationships with suppliers to help generate component specifications and to perform make vs. buy analysis

3. Assist in the development of relationships and requirements for engineering service suppliers

4. Design for manufacturability (DfM) to ensure that the design of all components, sub-systems, and battery system optimizes the manufacturing process at the sub-assembly, battery system assembly, and vehicle level assembly. Ensure that the design of all components facilitates handling throughout the product life cycle from shipping through disassembly and recycling.    

5. Utilize company standard practices for engineering design and project work including FMEA, PEP, MasterDrawing and other divisional tools/processes.    

6. Create test plans for mechanical and durability related requirements. Ensure that designs meet expected functions and failure modes in the full validation of component, sub-assemblies, and battery systems    

7. Review and evaluate structure simulatio (e.g. FEA) report with supplier and or in-house CAE team together, give feedback for improving battery structure   

8. Assist in test of battery pack mechanical durability, such as vibration and shock. Together with validation team to analyze test data and result report

Requirements:

1. Bachelor degree and above, major in mechanical and related.    

2. Above 5 years vehicle related design experience.    

3. Skilled in CATIA V5.   

4. Fluent in oral and written English.   

5. Good knowledge of MS Office applications.    

6. Basic knowledge of automotive development processes (e.g. FMEA, APQP, 8D, tolerance analysis)    

7. Quality, environment, safety Consciousness and common sense.
