Position Summary Description:
Looking for an experienced and self-motivated telephony platform engineer/analyst to work on a complex distributed telephony/call center system. The position requires versatility and passion for maintaining extremely high quality service provider-class platform for telematics call control applications.
Key Areas of Responsibilities:
Troubleshooting the HUGHES Telematics telephony platform and maintain the operational platform status
Assisting in developing new telephony features and functionality
Planning and deploying system-wide and/or component level upgrades to hardware and software
Basic Qualifications:
Troubleshooting skills and ability to understand complex relationships between components of multi-tiered applications and how each system is interconnected
Expert in Operating System Administration - Experience with Windows OS system administration, configuration, troubleshooting, performance tuning, preventative maintenance, and security procedures; experience with Linux/Unix desired.
Be able to create Advanced SQL queries with database tools like SQL Developer
Basic understanding of VoIP - SIP, VoIP backhaul (PRI)
Preferred Qualifications:
Understands carrier-based advanced features, OSI layers, computer telephony integration (CTI), VoIP, SIP, and various types of call routing.
Understanding of VoIP architectures (SIP, H.323)
SIP media gateways and Session border controllers (Cisco / Covergence / Acme Packet)
Oracle Contact Center Anywhere (CCA), formally Telephony@Work
Experience with other vendor's ACDs, Open-source platforms for call flow design and control (Asterisk, FreeSwitch, FreePBX, etc.), MS SQL server/Oracle DBs, XML, VXML, and Crystal Reports, UNIX, Windows Server, Solaris, and Linux.
Engineer highly visible dashboard reports for understanding platform trends, capacity planning, and partner SLA management
Work Environment
