Job Summary

The Solution Architect is responsible for the end to end design and implementation for a business product line to include design, development and the building of a set of highly complex applications to meet a specific business need. They manage the activities of other Architects, Systems Analysts and development resources in a matrix environment to ensure consistence of the applications. They define best practices in the critical evaluation and selection and / or development of the software components and hardware requirements of the applications and data, and the development of the application, including evaluation and selection of development methods, development processes, best practices and tools. The Solution Architect is responsible for applications-related quality, performance, availability, scalability, and integrity and for the functional interface to applications and for ensuring application usability. This is an excellent opportunity for a technologist with 10+ years professional development experience to step in as a productive contributor and innovator to a growing team.

Responsibilities

1. Responsible for the technical direction of platform(s) or set of applications, within a portfolio, providing consulting expertise, leveraging business and technical knowledge to support business strategies and deliver business value.

2. Plays an integral role in building and enhancing the infrastructure required to support the platform(s) or set of applications, in terms of robustness, scalability, availability and efficiency. Works with Technical and Business Architects to ensure that the developments support the business and IT strategic plan.

3. Participate in writing detailed level technical and functional specifications documentation.

4. Reviews estimates for software development and delivery to ensure quality and accuracy.

5. Manage, monitor and address third party work in terms of quality and adherence to standards.

6. Deliver the strategic roadmap and DR solutions.

7. Provide architectural governance - reviewing projects to ensure alignment to architectural and technical strategy.

8. Provide technical architecture and thought leadership for the development and delivery of the applications under their control.

9. Ensure that the engineered environment meets the specifications in terms of business requirements, application design and infrastructure requirements i.e. accountable for the performance and efficiency of platforms.

10.Partner with the Technology Strategy & Operations organization in determining a practical adaptation of enterprise standards through informal feedback sessions.

11.Ensure that platform(s) supported meets the business, technical and infrastructure needs by over-seeing the health and well-being of the technical infrastructure.

12.Review estimates for software development and delivery to ensure quality and accuracy.

13.Works with the leaderships of Business and Technical Architecture to identify technical solutions and business process improvements in support of the business and IT strategic direction.

14.Ensure accurate asset information is recorded/documented for the platform/application supported.

15.Work closely with the business partners in analyzing business processes and technology options to develop target application reference architectures for the platform.

16.Work closely with the Enterprise Architect to ensure continued compliance of the company's strategic architecture and blueprints.

Qualifications:

Education

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field (or has equivalent work experience) required. Master's Degree preferred.

Experience

Minimum 10 years of experience in a variety of Application Development environments with experience with technical leadership driving very large/complex solutions that support strategic roadmaps. Experience in multiple IT disciplines with a proven understanding of architectural concepts (data, technical and solution), issues and trends. Demonstrated experience using industry tools and trends to deliver solutions and strategies. Extensive Experience with architecture frameworks and standards such as TM Forum Frameworx , TOGAF, ITIL and COBIT. Experience delivering projects through a standard life cycle delivery process. Excellent oral and written presentation skills required.

Competencies

Requires advanced to expert level knowledge and understanding of architecture, application systems design and integration across multiple IT disciplines with a detailed understanding of networking and programming methodologies. Must have an excellent understanding of the full software lifecycle, including functional requirement gathering, design and development, testing of software applications and documenting requirements and technical specifications is required. Must be able rapidly produce interim deliverables and prototypes in addition to the final application. Required to keep abreast with the current technology through continuing education, training, seminar etc.

Deep understanding of the Oracle telecommunication's application stack (Siebel, Fusion Middleware, Application Integration Architecture, Billing and Revenue Management, Order Management (OSM) along with detailed knowledge of using and designing databases.

Must read, write and speak fluid Mandarin and English.
