Job Summary

The public relations (PR) specialist is primarily responsible for the overall reputation and favorable image of our company, which involves planning and directing public relations programs, and managing communication between our company and the media. In addition, this role helps promote partner initiatives, and develops unpaid media opportunities that generate sales. This position focuses on the development and execution of campaigns that engage the media while promoting HTI's goals and objectives as well as those of our clients.



Responsibilities

1. Develop results-driven campaigns that integrate online and offline channels to meet business goals.

2. Own and run vertical market, regional and product focused campaigns.

3. Lead the planning and implementation of projects. Manage communication budgets.

4. Identify clients and audiences and determine the most effective way to disseminate information to them.

5. Provide coaching and interview prep for executives. Draft speeches and arrange interviews for company executives.

6. Write, edit and package persuasive and newsworthy content that can be easily repurposed by PR manager or other team members into blog posts, comments, traditional press releases, speaker abstracts, award submissions, e-newsletter content, opinion pieces and executive talking points.

7. Manage our news pipeline by creating compelling news hooks, drafting the majority of press release content, collaborating cross-functionally, and developing data-driven press releases on an ongoing basis.

8. Develop and manage media relationships. Coordinate outreach efforts within our sales and marketing team. Identify opportunities to leverage our social media on a regular basis to drive media interest and conversations.

9. Manage special events, sponsorships and product launches. Evaluate advertising and promotion programs for compatibility with public relations efforts. Assign, supervise and review the activities of public relations staff.

10.Confer with labor relations managers to develop internal communications that keep employees informed of company activities. Respond to requests for information about employers' activities or status.

11.Direct activities of external agencies, establishments and departments that develop and implement communication strategies and information programs. Formulate policies and procedures related to public information programs, working with public relations executives.

12.Establish goals for soliciting funds; develop policies for collection and safeguarding of contributions, and coordinate disbursement of funds.

13.Facilitate consumer relations, or the relationship between parts of the company such as the managers and employees, or different branch offices.

14.Maintain company archives. Manage in-house communication courses. Produce films and other video products, regulate their distribution, and operate film library.

15.Observe and report on social, economic and political trends that might affect employers. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with local and municipal government officials, and media representatives.



Qualifications:

Education

Requires a BA/BS or MA degree in public relations, marketing or communications, business, journalism, advertising, social science or related field, with a minimum of 5-7 years of public relations experience, preferably in both corporate and agency settings; global technology and/or e-commerce experience, as well as experience with a large, publicly traded company is a plus.

Experience

Must have agency/vendor resource management experience.
