Sr. Acoustic System Engineer (Electrical)
Department: Consumer Engineering
Summary: To design, develop and evaluate acoustic systems and transducers. The system design begins with the earliest concept and is continued through documentation and production. Team interface is required. Self-motivation, time management and project management skills are used daily.
Basic Functions:
? The complete design, development, and integration, of any or all acoustic elements for new products that meet all market requirements and expectations.
? Advancements in the creation and applications of new technologies that contribute to our technology and product roadmaps
? Continuous and measurable improvement in group expertise through training and management of team members in new acoustic technology developments or special related projects.
? Maintain knowledge of CE market and competitive landscape to insure alignment of acoustic systems developments with consumer requirements.
? Maintain cross functional environment, that includes Marketing, Manufacturing, Sales, Suppliers, Quality Assurance departments to ensure the delivery of easy to build, cost effective, innovated & high quality products
? Operate routinely and effectively within highly talented team environment with limited supervision and coordinate with others to accomplish project tasks.
Essential Duties:
? Participate in new products meetings to define the necessary acoustic technologies or solutions and to translate concepts into product requirements documentation
? Support new product feasibility studies, test planning, and cost estimations
? Design, specify, engineer/develop and document necessary acoustic components such as transducers, ports, waveguides and crossover networks
? Write specifications for and integration of signal processing electronics for complete powered acoustic systems optimization.
? Identify & evaluate new technologies, materials applications, and signal processing techniques for systems optimization or acoustic component optimization.
? Regularly document findings, recommendations, and seek out ways to improve product development efficiencies, process & technical competency
? Work closely with other team members to quickly integrate all components toward fully functional products.
Qualifications:
BSEE or BSME and 7+ years of related experience.
Required Experience:
? Successful design on PC based Audio systems, TV audio system or mobile audio system, and transducer product evaluation in a global team environment
? Tuning experience with DSP amplifier from ST, TI and the codec chip from Realtek and related companies
? Analog filter design for Audio system application
? Computer based acoustic/electrical measurement systems such as MLSSA, LMS, AP, B&K & other audio test equipment
Required Knowledge:
? Acoustics, Electrical, Physics & Mechanical vibration as applied to consumer products
? Analog, digital electronics fundamentals and signal processing techniques
? Engineering prototypes fabrication and assembly
? Project management
? Excellent Verbal and written communication skills in English
