As our Internal Communications specialist you will be responsible for developing and implementing China internal communications digital and social media strategy and contributing China corporate and internal stories to global Communications editorial Committee. You will coordinate internal communications in Shanghai office, R&D center and two manufacture base in Shanghai and Wuhan. As a seasoned writer, you will draft, shape and steer corporate messaging and other enterprise-wide initiatives through all internal communications channels. You will drive real impact to the business while contributing with the development and implementation of communications strategies, plans, tools and messages for key initiatives in support of the company’s business priorities, fundamentals and behaviors.

 

Responsibilities

  • Implement global internal communication strategies and establish China internal communications plan in conjunction with Director Internal Communications and senior managers.

  • In support of company’s employees’ engagement and employer branding efforts, develop and implement with the support of the marketing communications team an internal social media strategy.

  • As content owner of the company China website, develop a robust MOS to manage global digital COE and local vendor, ensure all the news and contents are delivered properly and in time. 

  • You will plan, develop internal contents in multiple attractive formats, including posters, infographics, videos, H5 to enhance employee communication effects.

  • Turn complex subject matters related to Garrett technologies and innovations into compelling stories that inform and educate employees about the strategy, the company’s priorities and each employee’s role in delivering results. From crafting speeches, to video scripts, messages and news stories, you will be the conduit between executives to internal audiences, ensuring a timely and appropriate dissemination of information.

  • As main internal communications event owner, you will coordinate Town Hall meeting, annual dinner, Family Day, Diversity & Inclusive activities. Drive local CSR and sustainability initiatives.

  • Deliver presentations, compelling design ideas.

  • Support functional leaders and management proving communications counsel, communications plans and related tools covering business strategy and organizational developments.

  • Using rich metrics tracking, identify key trends & adapt digital and all internal tools to increase impact on employees.

 

KEY SKILLS

  • Writing skills: You need excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills as well as the journalistic ability to source stories from employees.

  • Speaking skills: You also need strong speaking skills as you are likely to be called on to give presentations to staff. Internal communications managers need sensitivity to an organisation’s goals and values and the ability to relay them to employees

  • Interpersonal skills: You need good interpersonal and relationship-building skills in order to work and be able to support all functions. You also need to possess the confidence to deal with senior executives and explain communication techniques to them.

  • Creative skills: You need the creative ability to devise communication strategies Digital skills: Familiarity with information technology, especially digital and video means of communication, is essential.

REQUIRED BACKGROUND

  • Fluent in English and excellent English/ Chinese writing skills  

  • Bachelor's degree; preference if in a related field such as journalism, communications, marketing or HR

  • A communications skilled people with experience within similar companies on positions entailing similar type of responsibilities

  • Excellent organization and time management skills

  • Strong project management skills

  • Heavy digital and social media user, willing to learn digital tools

  • Experience on Internal Communications

  • Positive, enthusiastic and creative mindset, willing to learn and to make a difference

  • Strong Microsoft Office tools skills, intranet publishing & video production capabilities

  • Result oriented and able to work collaboratively and with minimum supervision
