POSITION: Senior Development Engineer, China (Role as engineering projects in-charge)


REPORTS TO: Engineering Director/ Project Engineering Manager
SUPERVISES: Development Engineers, CAD Designers


Nature of the Company: China headquarter of a Wholly foreign invested enterprise from US
Product: Household Electrical Appliances


ROLE:
Lead the technical teams to design and development of electromechanical consumer floor care appliances.


RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Define the architecture and construction of the finish product.
2. Responsible for the integration of different systems in the product including mechanical, electrical and electronic
system.
3. Responsible for the finalization mechanical layouts of products.
4. Final approval of the product specification and hold responsible to.
5. Lead the Engineering team to design and development the product and make final judgment on the design solution to all
technical issues in time.
6. Lead the Engineer team working with technical resource from the supplier to design and development the product.
7. Assure the team and supplier follow the best practice defined in design and CAD modeling and engineering analysis during
the design and qualification of the product.
8. Leverage the resources within the Engineering team to achieve the committed target of the projects.
9. Final technical decision on the specification and selection of purchased components.
10. Participate in initial product conception and feasibility studies.
11. Act as technical team leader on larger projects.
12. Work with Manager to plan activities, schedule tasks, and estimate resources.

Cross functional, collocated team setting.
1. Interaction with CAD, supplier(s) or manufacturing locations, US project teams
2. Fast paced, fact based decision making organization
3. Concept to production involvement in projects
4. Travel as required


Requirements:
1. Over 9 years' experience in relevant Product Development
2. Strength in engineering fundamentals
3. Analytical approach to problems
4. Team Leadership
5. Electromechanical consumer product
6. Plastic part design
7. Both UL & IEC approved knowledge
8. 3D CAD (Pro-E preferred)
9. Test development and results analysis
