As an Electronics Engineer, you will be part of the Industrial Automation Division and Measurement & Analytics Business Unit (BU) based in HangZhou. ABB is the World leader in Industrial Automation (IA) division delivers integrated solutions for control, plant optimization, and industry-specific application knowledge and services to help process industry customers worldwide to meet their critical business needs in the areas of operational profitability, capital productivity, risk management and global responsibility. These industries include oil and gas, power, chemicals and pharmaceuticals, pulp and paper, metals, cement, minerals, marine and turbocharging.

Your Tasks as an Electronics Engineer will include the following:

1. Plan, conduct, coordinate and make recommendations regarding varied analytical studies, such as evaluation of advanced engineering concepts, procedures and processes. Analyze engineering and financial requirements of proposed programs, develop proposals and coordinate associated activities up to and including product delivery, installation and customer support.
2. Serve as technical consultant, advisor and spokesperson for the organization on highly significant matters and exert considerable influence regarding focus and direction of engineering activities. Negotiate with customers, matters of considerable significance that may impact current and future business.
3. Design and develop complex models or simulations of systems and conduct independent studies and research encompassing sophisticated analytical techniques and novel and unconventional approaches.
4. May temporarily manage and direct activities of other engineers and assist in their professional and technical development.
5. Maintain awareness of state-of-the-art technology and market trends affecting Company products and services and recommend responsive action.

1. Total Experience from 8 years to 12 of Electronic Design experience with Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering or related field.
2. Design, analyze, and evaluate systems, products or components, requiring a high degree of technical expertise.
3. Development of analog, digital hardware boards/solutions from inception through production release/sustaining.
4. Research, investigate and define new areas of technology to enhance existing products or to provide new product direction.
5. Hardware design from concept through to production including component selection, test, prototype build and debug, regulatory and certification approvals, production integration and ongoing support.
6. Work closely with firmware developers during development and post production stage.
7. Experience with embedded microprocessor/microcontroller design and development, and ability to write embedded software for microcontrollers.
8. Experienced with CAD tools for schematic capture, simulation and PCB layout.
9. Microcontroller/Processor development environments
10. Hands on hardware development experience – analog and digital and electromechanical devices.
11. Digital processing understanding state machine design, multiple clock domains, skew and propagation delay, synchronous design techniques
12. Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey complex ideas to both technical and non-technical parties.
13. Must be proficient in English, both written and verbal.

Preferred, but not required:

1. Experience developing embedded software for measurement and analytical equipment developed for the Upstream Oil & Gas market.
2. Discrete design using logic gates in multiple families including: CMOS, HCMOS and other 5Vbipolar families and 3.3V, 2.5V and 1.8V CMOS families.
3. Digital filters including FIR, IIR, multi-rate, decimation, interpolation, adaptive filters.
4. Digital to Analog Conversion using DACs, PWM.
5. Discrete level design of switching and linear circuits using transistors (BJT and FET), resistors, capacitors, thermistors.
6. Linear amplifiers at the chip level using Op-amps, Instrumentation amplifiers, differential amplifiers, Integrators, Differentiators, Summers.
7. Analog to Digital Converters such as SAR, Sigma-Delta, Delta-Sigma, Comparator.
8. Analog filters using switched capacitor techniques, linear amplifiers and RLC.
9. Impedance matching, conversion and network analysis.
10. Electromechanical Devices, Sensors, Solenoids, Motors, Valves (both linear and on/off).
11. RTD’s, Pressure, Thermocouple.
12. Electromagnetic Emission/ Susceptibility Control.
13. Use of EMC Compliance Equipment.
