OVERVIEW:
The purpose is to lead, coach and be responsible for production, different production shift teams and deliveries in time and on plan according to SOP and safety instructions. Cross-function work and to truly work in processes is essential and it is required to build up and develop a good communication and cooperation environment with planning, maintenance, quality department, warehouse and distribution, sales, O&D and inventory management & control to support the company business develop strategy in the company's APAC. It is a critical role, including implementing lean management and TPM and delivering on the expected targets and according to defined quality targets. The Production Supervisor reports to Production Manager.
The production supervisor will play an important role as the responsible person who Supervises site safety according to the company's APAC safety polices, rules and regulations.
With the focus of China company, it is imperative that the Production Supervisor is a very skilled leader with a firm belief in training, guiding and coaching since continuous development is an essential criteria in company. A rather extensive understanding and experience of using IT-systems (MES) is important, as well as being very well versed in English in both writing and talking. In addition, experience from either working with or even leading lean improvements is very valuable.
Furthermore, given the development of China company, a full focus on safety and the ability to take initiatives and show "drive" and "energy" are important.
The production supervisor should do the work according to the codes of conduct such as:

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working safety
- Supervise the working safety both for SSAB employees and subcontractors who work in the production area and ensure any work is done safely according to the safety rules and regulation of the company's APAC
- Ensure that all the operators work with following the safety rules and SOP by insist on giving training, correcting wrong behavior, re-training, coaching and having conversation with operators
- Encourage the team to report deviations and near misses, and initiate improvement actions for any safety deviations and near miss in order to continuously improving working safety
- Supervise the workshops working safety practices, report the safety deviation and take improvement actions by cooperating and coordinating with stakeholders, contractors and safety coordinator
- Cooperate with safety coordinator on safety training, safety walk, deviations / near miss / incident handling and improvement work
Supervising and leading production shift teams
- During daily work the production supervisor should report to the production manager about production status, equipment's status, and operators working conditions and other issues during production.
- The production supervisor should always review the workload, work allocation for overall operators, and conduct the monthly work efficiency evaluation and yearly performance review staffs.
- To have a smooth and effective production flow and walk the production planning the production supervisor need work together and coordinate with production planner; to achieve the defined product quality level and handle the daily quality deviation the production supervisor should have a good understanding for the company's APAC quality system and work close with quality coordinator and to implement TPM and guarantee the equipment performance the production supervisor should cooperate and work together with maintenance staffs on maintenance issues.
The supervisor will also responsible for:
- Staff safety education training, daily safety management according to the company's APAC safety polices, rules and regulations
- Continuous improvement of work safety with eliminating potential safety risk
- 5S, autonomous management implementation, coaching and supervising the operators
- Coordinate and cooperate for TPM implementation
- Production consumable planning and budget, continuous improvement for production cost saving
- Develop the daily work with the company One as a base/foundation and coaching staff for the company
- Plan and conduct necessary training and coaching for staff according to production demand
- Planning and budget for mechanical spare parts and consumables according to the facilities condition
- Responsible for maintain the firefighting equipment for production area
- Coordinate work for safety assessment of working process and work place
- Special equipment management
- Coordinate work for building up emergency solution for failure and emergency case (gas leakage, firefighting etc.)
- Support purchase department with technical knowledge when purchasing new equipment
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor degree in relevant areas with at least 8 years' experience from production area and at least 3 years production supervisor experience
- Need to be self-motivated, and able to work independently
- English and Mandarin is a must
- Documented experience in a start-up and green field environment
- Steel /metal business experience in beneficial
- Experience working in an international environment
- Familiarity with legal file related occupational safety and health
- Familiarity with ISO 9001/14001, OHSAS18001
