Position Objective:
To manage the overall marketing and product positioning for plant Agriculture Biotechnology applications in Greater China.
This includes detailed analysis of the business in the regions, industry and competitor trends. Match products and technologies, both current and in the pipeline, with anticipated customer needs to identify new market opportunities.
May supervise assigned staff and will participate in the development of strategic plans.
Assigned area of responsibility includes existing and new products for plant sciences research as well as partnership with key opinion leaders to develop scientific collaborations.


Nature and Scope:
This position interacts with varying levels of internal and external personnel requiring the ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing' market development, positioning, operating plans and strategies. Position communicates mission as well as interprets policies/programs. Effectiveness in this role requires an in-depth knowledge of those operating plans and strategies as well as industry practices for developing, promoting and selling similar products. The incumbent receives assignments in the form of objectives and determines how to use resources to meet schedules and goals. Incumbent will exercise judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.


Education:
Bachelor's degree in Plant Biology, Biology, Horticulture or related discipline, or the equivalent education and experience are required. M.B.A. preferred.


Experience:
At least five years in a similar role including setting strategy, identifying new market opportunities and developing operating plans.
Incumbent must have excellent communication skills as well as analytical, project management and planning skills necessary.
Business development skills and cross-functional team leadership experience strongly preferred.
Incumbent must have proven ability to see new business opportunities, set and meet aggressive objectives and develop strong working relationships.
Experience with Plant Genetic Analysis is highly valuable.
