The IT Infrastructure and Operations Engineer plays a vital role in ensuring that Information Technology is delivered and utilized effectively in order to support the organization. The candidate for this role will have a proven track record of effective management, design and support of all aspects of technical IT infrastructure and operations which will be utilized to support our MPS China locations. There will also be an emphasis on strong customer service skills in order to ensure effective communications and relations between the IT department and the business.
Principal Responsibilities and Essential Duties:
? Provide efficient desktop support to fulfil service requests and resolve IT issues.
? Responsible to software installation, maintenance and licenses management.
? Support all aspects of enterprise infrastructure within Pan-China including networks, servers, software, monitoring systems, storage technologies, power management, patch and asset management.
? Assists in capacity planning, procurement and management of support requirements for critical business systems; software, equipment maintenance, external service and vendor evaluations.
? Effective utilization of ServiceDesk for Incident Management, Change Management and Request Fulfilment.
? Recommend, implement and assure compliance with policy and procedures affecting enterprise technology infrastructure.
? Assists in development, maintenance and testing of contingency plans, hardware maintenance and lifecycle planning for the corporate software, hardware and networking assets.
? Ensures constant and effective communications with internal/external customers, internal resources, partners, and outside agencies.
? Active Directory Administration
? Remediate app/package installations within Desktop Central
? Provides input and assistance to other IT projects.
Requirements:
? Degree in Computer Science, information systems or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
? Industry specific certifications – VCP, MCSE, Network+, ITIL, etc. – desirable.
? 3-5 years of hands-on technical experience in IT systems management and monitoring
? Strong knowledge of Microsoft technologies; Server OS, Desktop OS, Active Directory, Group Policy.
? Strong knowledge and experience with VMware technologies; vSphere, vCenter, vMotion, Storage vMotion, SRM.
? Experience with multiple hardware vendors; Cisco, HP, Dell
? Experience with management and monitoring tools; ManageEngine, What’s Up Gold,
? Experience within a global manufacturing organization is a plus.
? Knowledge of ITIL principles and experience operating within an IT function governed by ITIL processes.
? Knowledge of information security standards and best practices, including system hardening, access control, Antimalware, Proxies, identity management and network security, ITIL Process.
? Experience with Firewall Management (Checkpoint and Palo Alto)
? Strong Experience with Network design and administration both wired and wireless with Aruba Switches and Wireless networking products.
? Experience with Network Level Authentication with Aruba ClearPass.
? Experience with Network troubleshooting with Packet Capture and Analysis.
? Positive attitude, ability to work in a distributed team environment and ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
? Demonstrated verbal and written communications skills with strong customer service orientation, excellent English verbal and written skills required.
The IT Infrastructure and Operations Engineer plays a vital role in ensuring that Information Technology is delivered and utilized effectively in order to support the organization.
