Nanosurf is a leading provider of innovative atomic force and scanning tunneling microscopes (AFM and STM). Our products and services are trusted by professionals worldwide to help them measure, analyze, and present 3D surface information. Our scanning probe microscopes excel through their compact and elegant design, their easy handling, and their absolute reliability.

To further strengthen our sales team, Nanosurf is looking for a dedicated, motivated, and dynamic individual with significant experience selling high-end scientific instrumentation to academia and industrial organizations.

To support our global growth strategy, we are currently seeking an experienced Area Sales Manager — Asia

The role

Based in Shanghai, China, you will manage the sales and our sales partners in selected countries in Asia (Japan, Korea, Singapore, Australia, Taiwan, others). You will support our local partners with the implementation of the marketing plans agreed upon. You train distributors and local sales people to keep them up to date with the latest innovations, and you support challenging customer projects with your technical and commercial skills. International traveling is expected to take up around 30-50% of your time. Qualification of prospects and management of customer expectations, ensuring a good match with our product capabilities is part of the role as much as ensuring customer satisfaction before and after every sale.

You will coordinate successful execution of equipment demos, sample imaging, new and existing customer visits, workshops, conferences, and exhibitions.

The candidate

You are in possession of a Master’s or PhD degree in Physics, Chemistry, Materials Science or equivalent field, and have preferably used SPM (in particular AFM) during education or work. You have earned your spores as technical sales person and manager. As an eloquent communicator, you possess excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and preferably also in German, and your ambition drives you to walk that extra mile. You are also an absolute team player who puts common interests and company goals first.
