Based at Ricardo Shanghai Technical Centre in China, your role as, Hydraulic Systems/Development Engineer - Transmissions, will involve leading and supporting the engineering team on a variety of projects. Current projects range in scope from dual clutch or automatic transmissions systems to large complex off highway systems. Day to day role will include:

? Support of 3D Design of components and systems
? Detailed analysis of designs
? Support of system simulation
? Testing and evaluation
? Working closely with mechanical design and controls engineers
? Interaction with customers and suppliers

Candidate:
Technical Skills:
? 5 to 10 years’ experience in Transmission design and development
? In depth knowledge of the fundamentals of fluid power
? Capable of designing and understanding complex hydraulic systems
? Understand the principles of hydraulic component design and be able to apply this
? Knowledge of proportional and/or servo hydraulic systems & components
? Knowledge of the supply base for automotive, mobile and industrial hydraulic components
? Understand the operating system and hydraulic system requirements for both on and off highway vehicles
? Testing of hydraulic components in both the field and laboratory with the ability to understand and interpret the results
? Appreciation of electronic control systems and control principles which interface with the hydraulic systems
? Knowledge of DFMEA, Six Sigma and Problem Resolution tools including (Is/Is Not, 8D, Fishbone)

? Proven ability in supporting multi-million pound projects in a matrix organization across multiple sites

? Willing to travel and comfortable working across a range of cultures
? Willing to be flexible in his working hours and approach

Qualifications:
? Master Degree in an applicable Engineering discipline
