Essential Responsibilities:

1.Manage customer requirements. Track customer specifications and versions to ensure proper product definition. Track and resolve customer specification issues. Interface with both the customer and Harman/Becker Product Engineering teams to coordinate a successful resolution of these issues. Document and maintain product requirement exceptions, i.e. specification wavier list. Organize all product specifications in a manner that allows for simplified requirements topic searching (e.g. WIKI Page).

2.Develop customer requirements. Develop technical functional specifications based on customer specifications and internal documents to clearly and concisely capture what is required of the product. Maintain these specifications as the project moves forward in time and as changes in the understanding of the product requirements continue to evolve. Prototype new HMI proposals with software tools to ensure a complete understanding of the requirements.

3.Coordinate change management. Work with the customer, Harman/Becker Product Engineering teams, HBAS program management and HBAS sales organizations to document the impact analysis of customer driven and internally driven product changes. Track each change individually from the inception through the requirements analysis phase and finally to the customer change notification approval.

4.Requirements status reporting. On a per project basis, track and report the status of requirements definition. Identify risk level associated with new feature development based on requirements status.

5.Support HBAS internal organizations. Support TQA/TQE as necessary for such items as product DFMEA, Schematic Reviews, Warranty, Diagnostics, DVP&R, User's Manual, Technical Service Bulletins, Appearance Approvals and PSO follow up. Support the software/hardware/mechanical developers at the unit and system level to insure that all requirements are met and the highest software quality is achieved.

6.Focus on developing HMI both haptic and speech for infotainment systems.

7.Ability to draw graphics and develop logic and flow for HMI interfaces.

8.Ability to understand customer requirements and transfer into an effective HMI design.

Basic Qualifications:

1.Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer Science, or computer Engineering

2.Five years of systems engineering background in automotive industry of other qs900 complaint work area.

3.Prior experience working together with customer to develop HMI specifications.

4.Detailed oriented and very organized.

5.Experience with Photoshop, Visio, and other HMI development tools.

6.Experience with DOORS desired

7.Prior experience providing detailed reviews on complex/technical specifications.

8.Broad technical background with general knowledge of infotainment system components such as Navigation, Global Positioning Satellites, AM/FM tuners, Hard Disk drive, compressed audio encoding/decoding, Bluetooth, color TFT displays, TMC, RDS, Satellite Radio, DVD, video, Voice Recognition, Hands-Free operation and automotive environmental requirements.

9.Strong background with low and high-speed vehicle bus protocols. Practical experience in related areas such as system design, hardware/software design and real time embedded applications.
