Essential Responsibilities
• Work as thermal design engineer in the LED lamp design team with a focus on the system level thermal design development for LED lighting products.
• Provide simulation and modeling predictions of system and sub-system thermal performance using analytical methods, Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and Finite Element modeling tools.
• Develop,measure and validate thermal design solutions for new product designs. Work closely with system/electrical/mechanical engineers, supplier and customers to ensure system level thermal solutions to meet product technical specification requirements
• Identify and validate new solutions, materials and processes to improve thermal design margin of LED lighting products.
• Work with design and project execution team to meet program objectives including performance, scheduling and cost.
• Establish and maintain a thermal design and material database for the new product development team. Support sub-tier supplier qualification and evaluation activities.
• Collaborate with PMQE on the manufacture process review and improvement
Qualifications/Requirements
• BS or MS degree in Thermal Engineering with 3-5 years of thermal design experience or a PH.D in Thermal Engineering with 1-3 years of experience
• Must possess strong thermal design engineering skills with proficiency in at least one of the following thermal simulation software (Flotherm/FloEFD/IcePak etc); Must have experience using 3D design software tools such as Solidworks and ProE etc
• Solid experience with definition, testing and statistical analysis of thermal/mechanical experiments
• Committed and Self-starter. Proven ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast paced environment and ability to work under pressure
• Good English communication skills, both written and oral.
