1. Purpose of Job
This position is responsible for drawing generation & calculation:
-for design of engine valves in AP using 2D / 3 D CAD software
-to maintain product drawings
-to perform Finite Element and Fatigue Analyses of production and
prototype valves
-to provide simulation support to solve customer problems


2. Knowledge/Skills Required
- B.S. degree in engineering required / Master's degree preferred
- Advanced personal computer skills in database management, spreadsheets and word processing
- Proficiency with CAD engineering software (Cadra / Pro/Engineer, Catia, or similar experience required )
- Deep understanding of materials, fatigue and lifetime calculation
- Proficiency with ANSYS ( at least basic knowledge )
-Language skills : Chinese mother language, Fluent in English ( written & conversation )


3. Contribution
3.1 Design
- Create new product designs based on customer engineering, quality and manufacturing input.
- Prepare and maintain TRW Product Drawings to TRW, ISO or other relevant standards
- Prepare layout and assembly drawings as required.
- Prepare customer product drawings to customer defined specifications when required.
- Check completed drawings to assure conformance to customer and TRW standards.
- Maintain product design database and product history file.
- Independently maintain CAD systems to current industry standards

3.2 Calculation
- Perform valve failure Finite Element analyses for various customers.
- Run FEA software and fulfill basic FEA simulations
- Establish reports
- Create and maintain documentation of all commonly performed
engineering calculations and analyses.


4. Customer Service
- Provide customer drawings of our products
- Provide support and service to Customer Engineering, Materials Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, and the
Prototype Department.
- Interacts with external customers when applicable
- Interacts with own organization both in Europe & the US


5. Leadership and Independent Action
- Required to work independently with minimum supervision.
- Able to perform assigned tasks as outlined.
- Must communicate and interact independently with engineering personnel to resolve design issues or discrepancies.
- Must occasionally communicate with external customers independently with minimum supervision.


6. Problem Solving and Decision Making
- Design components using applicable engineering standards and techniques.
- Prioritize workflow to assure completion of projects on a timely basis.
- Independently update existing standards.
- Requires independent evaluation, selection and application of engineering techniques or procedures.
