Major Responsibilities:

-Work as a member of the global mechanical engineering team to follow the global mechanical engineering best practices
-Deliver the mechanical design concepts and solutions with the right materials and processes to meet the product requirements;
-Undertake detailed designs of mechanical parts, supporting the passive safety electronics, braking electronics and steering electronics products. Key products will be the ECU housings, connectors, and mounting brackets
-Produce worst case analyses and tolerance stack-up analysis to ensure product assembly capability.
-Complete customer vehicle packaging study together with the product application engineer.
-Conduct mechanical failure analysis during design validation and mass production covering fatigue failure, soldering joints, wire bonding, housing warpage etc;
-Validate mechanical assembly processes and components, such as wiring bonding, high power terminal welding, PCB material and compliant pin etc;
-Ensure that all designs produced conform to the chosen manufacturing process through calculation and analysis.
-Work with the MCAD engineering to ensure that all assembly and detail drawings produced are clear, concise & correct and are accomplished to the design intents and timing required;
-Attend design/production validation to ensure the validation plan to meet the design intent;
-Support the manufacturing plant in the event of the assembly or manufacturing processes failure;
-Support the tooling engineers in the design review with the tooling suppliers to ensure the tool made to the prints
-Support the Supplier Development Engineer to manage the supplier base to safeguard the product quality to the design intent;
-Utilize rapid prototyping techniques to evaluate design proposals as early as possible;
-Perform any other duties and responsibilities which may be assigned on an ad hoc basis by the management.

Key Competencies:

-Good knowledge of mechanical engineering;
-Excellent command of MCAD tools, Catia V5 is perfect.
-Excellent knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing techniques.
-Good knowledge on material properties, such as plastics and metals.
-Good knowledge on manufacturing processes such as injection molding, stamping and die casting.
-Strong in measurement techniques
-Good organizational and coordination skills; must be independent.
-Strong analytical, problem-solving skills;
-Self-motivation and good interpersonal skills;
-Automotive industry experience desirable
-Understanding of Statistical Analysis methods, including CpK/PpK and Gage R&R desirable
-6 Sigma Green Belt desirable
-Reasonable level of English language
-Bachelor Degree or above
-3 years or above mechanical engineering design experience
