Responsibilities:
1. Advice and support the management on legal and compliance matters, identify and quantify risks in daily business operations.
2. Review and improve legal and compliance related procedures and policies periodically to ensure it in line with the development of business operation, HQ guidelines in compliance and local raw and regulations.
3. Perform analysis, drafting, reviewing of all kinds of contracts, agreement and other legal documents to meet business requirements and minimize risks.
4. Provide professional guideline for contract signing processes. Work closely with business leaders to ensure that non-standard terms and conditions are properly reviewed and approved in accordance with policies and procedures.
5. Cooperate with external firms on all kinds of negotiation, mediation, litigation and investigation cases to protect the legitimate rights of company.
6. Assist face to face negotiation with customers in complex terms and conditions.
7. Provide training to our internal staff, distributers and related third parties on legal and compliance related policies, processes and risk control.
8. Coordinate major incident management, ensure risk events are reported in a timely complete and comprehensive manner, root cause analysis is undertaken and mitigating actions are identified and delivered.
9. Other related work assigned by leaders.
Requirements:
1. Bachelor’s degree or above in law.
2. More than 8 years’ experience in legal/compliance role in a multinational corporation (experience in law firm or other professional service org will also be considered).
3. Solid experience in contract management, commercial transaction and internal risk control.
4. Rich commercial contracting experience with proven ability to accurately translate complex contractual issues into easily understood summaries.
5. Willingness to travel to solve legal and compliance issues.
6. Strong customer service orientation with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel.
7. Strong negotiation and analytical skills with business acumen to make sound management recommendations.
8. Fluent in English or Japanese.
9. A licensed lawyer is preferred.
