It has a leading global position in robotic arc-welding systems, plasma and oxyfuel cutting equipment and in the brazing and soldering alloys market. Headquartered in U.S.A., now has 36 manufacturing locations, in 20 countries and a worldwide network of distributors and sales offices covering more than 160 countries.

Position: China Operation Director
Report to: China MD
Location: Shanghai
POSITION SUMMARY:
? Responsible for all employees, business functions, and associated activities that occur at China plant and/or in the local community.
? Accountable for assuring a safe, environmentally compliant and financially controlled facility that meets the highest quality and productivity levels possible.
? And provide leadership and facilitation to the functional department managers and their employees.
? Lead and direct the operation of the facility to achieve facility goals and objectives and effectively implement global, regional and local plant initiatives.
? Provide effective leadership and encourage communication throughout the facility to assure that sit priorities are kept in proper alignment with business goals and are well understood and pursued by all employees.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY:
? Effectively manage the key business processes; in collaboration with others (i.e., support functions and managers) for business processes beyond the local plant.
? Ensure compliance with all company and external standards/regulations for Manufacturing, maintenance, EHS, Quality, finance, HR and Community Affairs. Own and champion compliance with the support of regional and corporate functional leaders and their respective staffs.
? Develop a culture where all employees pursue continuous improvement in all processes. Ensure improvement of process capability/reliability, resulting in less process variability and reduction in generation of off-quality material. Ensure safe, reliable and cost effective manufacturing of standard recipe products. Ensure that the appropriate management of change process is followed for recipe modification. Effectively manage local measurement capability, resulting in desired levels of measurement error for expected testing of products.
? Establish and implement local initiatives that enhance effective utilization of plant assets through prudent management of fixed and variable costs. Ensure long-term integrity and fit for purpose of all facility assets. Efficiently manage the capital budget as agreed upon with regional and global manufacturing and engineering functions through use of the capital management system.
? Act as partner with other FGM'S across the company worldwide for sharing best practices and combined knowledge to leverage the size of our company versus individual competitors.
? Plan, prepare and monitor departmental budgets and expenditures to meet financial cost targets and objectives established through formal planning processes.
? Lead community outreach that includes development, implementation, and participation in a facility plan consistent with our neighbor's choice of philosophy and complies with all external standards such as Responsible Care.
? Effectively practice Performance Based Management by coaching and developing employees, direct as well as matrix reports, and assuring effective alignment with the matrix functions.
KNOWLEDGE&SKILLS:
? Bachelor degree, preferably in a technical discipline.
? Minimum 10 years manufacturing experience, including 5 years in a managerial role with budget and people management responsibility.
? Experience on managing more than 3 plants, the total HC of plants should exceed 1,500 and the total sales volume should exceed USD 250 Million/year.
? Familiar with Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen and Six Sigma.
? Strong finance skill.
? Fluent English in both oral and writing.
