The Company
The company is a vibrant Shanghai-based international sourcing company, supplying the USA with products from China, and mainly specialized in Houseware, incl. Plastics, Wood and Textile.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Translate trends into concepts that respond to business needs for the relevant product category.
2. Develop SKU-level designs from conception through revisions to sample approval.
3. Present to Department Manager and later customer for review and approval.
4. Create presentation boards.
5. May present products and concepts to Merchandising.
6. Identify ideas to be developed and collaborate with Designer of customer.
7. Tracks department design samples and ensures all samples are approved in a timely manner.
8. Email communication with venders on status of products
9. Help support filing and organizing of samples and fabrics
Qualifications
1. Minimum 2 years product design experience.
2. Degree in Design or equivalent experience.
3. Design Skills, Creative and Inspirational thinker, Deadline driven.
4. Experience and knowledge working with textile fabrics, and construction.
5. Excellent communication skills
6. Thorough understanding of the lifecycle of a product
7. Passion for textiles
