• Demonstrated experience with drafting IT technology contracts
• Demonstrated experience servicing customers in various IT transactions
• Information technology industry experience sufficient to understand IT requirements, technology products/services, and assess risks.
• Demonstrated experience with negotiating IT technology contracts
• Demonstrated experience with open source software licenses
• JD degree
• Technical or business undergraduate degree and/or relevant experience
• Demonstrated experience managing relationships with IT 3rd party suppliers
• Demonstrated public speaking and presentation skills

Functional skills:

• Requires unique combination of competency in IT, law, and general business and ability to assess associated risks for given business situation (e.g. cloud, open source software).
• Key role in numerous types of transactions (services, hardware, software, data) resulting in a required breadth of competence leading to customized services for each customer.
• Multiple projects to manage simultaneously – each with critical deadlines.
• Requires management of cross functional /multi-departmental global projects – many perspectives, cultures, geographies to involve, manage, influence within Ford and the vendor's organization.
• Requires constant balancing of customer's goals with overall corporate risk management (balancing pressing project needs with prudent risk management) resulting in the need to frequently use mediation, problem solving, communication, and influencing skills.
• Requires ability to understand the motivations of each party in a transaction and translate that into a win-win solution.

Job Description & Qualifications:

• Representing Ford and IT principles, practices, and values in IT transactions with 3rd parties via drafting, reviewing, editing legal documents.
• Managing risk to Ford and IT through effective negotiations with 3rd parties in IT transactions.
• Managing complex IT transaction projects with 3rd parties to achieve required deadlines.
• Participating in cross-functional teams formed to ensure that business objectives and requirements are met with a given transaction.
• Assessing cloud, open source software, and other emerging tech risks related to business needs, including communicating risks in business or IT terms.
• Ensuring effective ongoing relationships with 3rd parties with whom there are existing transactions (licenses, agreements, regulatory).
• Participate in IT Supplier Relationship Management activities
• contributing to and managing an IT center of excellence for supplier management (framework, tools, practices, learning resources for IT professionals),
• establishing contract management for key IT contracts, including processes for governance and on-going monitoring of and feedback related to supplier performance
• Guide development of relationships with new suppliers to deliver win-win outcomes supporting Ford's long-term IT strategy.
• Consulting to business partners on proposed or completed transactions in order to aid their decision making and risk assessment.
• Providing proactive decision making information for contracts and other related legal documents.
