Job Description

Job Purpose

Drive market penetration in Cansolv China’s selected and strategic sectors. Support the BD Lead in securing new licensing deals in the chosen third party industries and to seek the opportunity mainly in the O&G and Chemical sector by providing robust market analysis, driving the development of new CVPs for application of Cansolv SO2 and CO2 technologies and leveraging other Shell technologies’ in support of Cansolv business.

This position is particularly suited for an individual with strong drive and leadership that has the desire to be part of an entrepreneurial organisation and culture where one’s effort can be directly impactful and meaningful. Cansolv is in a growth phase in China, with successful entries into the power, refining and metallurgical sectors.

Cansolv is an innovative, technology-centered company that offers its clients high efficiency air pollution and capture solutions for the removal of SO2 and CO2 from gas streams in various industrial applications (O&G Fluid Treating, LNG, Refineries, Power Plants, CCS, Metallurgical Plants). Cansolv has over 20 commercial projects in the Americas, Asia and Europe where its state-of-the-art technology is being deployed and operated successfully.

Cansolv China is part of CTI (Cansolv Technologies Inc.), which in turn is a 100% wholly-owned subsidiary of Royal Dutch Shell (RDS) that provides state-of-the-art gas absorption solutions.

Dimensions
A key member of Business Development & Commercial team based in Beijing China

Engagement opportunities with senior level external stakeholders (incl. SOEs and governmental bodies)

Drive environmental business to contribute to the RDS P&T China footprint initiative

Coordination across Shell business units and functions


Principal Accountabilities
Support the delivery of revenue targets through licensing of SO2 scrubbing systems and sales of proprietary amines in China

Effective working across the Projects and Technology organisation to secure business opportunities

Identification of new customer needs and development of associated CVPs in Oil&Gas and Chemical applications

Identify and develop partnerships to realize CVPs and enhance competitiveness in market

Support the deployment of Cansolv promotion / market placement opportunities

Contract negotiation support to BD lead

Development of licensing/sales contracts and associated legal/finance/tax requirements in each context

Contribute to establish annual and mid-term business plan – commercial activities


Key Challenges
Build and manage business relations at Senior Manager level of customers/partners

Champion customer needs internally with Engineering Service team, Project Management team and R&D activities, ensuring that technological opportunities for business advantage are addressed

On a project basis, liaise with the Shell Upstream & Downstream organisations (in China) and with CTI to secure business development opportunities and licensing sales.

Job Knowledge, Skill & Experience
B.Eng/B.Sc./M.Sc. in a technical discipline coupled with genuine and continuous interest and curiosity in technology and innovation

Familiar with refining, chemical and/or energy industry in China

B2B experience with preferably prior exposure in BD or Account Executive role

Proven relevant experience in an operating or project environment

5-10 years track record in provision of BD / commercial services

Experience in the development of licensing deals for SO2/CO2 capture technology will be a plus

Additional Comments

Proven business development capability to realize opportunities

Familiar with complex contracting requirements

Pragmatic approach with an excellent understanding of interrelation between commercial and engineering deliverables

Excellent communication and facilitation skills
