POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering. At least 5 years shop experience, preferably working experience in heavy equipment manufacturing. Strong experience and knowledge in casting and machining. Basic knowledge in welding, heat treatment, NDE, testing etc. Mechanical Engineer, Quality Engineer and/or NDE Certification preferred. Technical writing skills and understanding of inspection and manufacturing processes. Fluent English skills are a must. Computer literate. Diligent and serious-minded attitude to work. Capable of (1) Machining inspection (capable of using applicable machine shop measuring tools accurately); (2) NDT interpretation (especially UT, MT & LP testing); (3) Welding documentation review and approval (per AWS D1.1, AWS D1.6 & ASME Section IX); (4) Reviewing and approving various Material Test Reports (MTR'); (5) Reading and understanding mechanical engineering drawings and specifications. (6) Writing detailed inspection reports utilizing the English language.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Ensures compliance to quality requirements per Metso drawings and specifications.
Clarifies specifications and documents ensuring compliance to Metso specifications.
Communicate process inspection techniques to suppliers.
Participates in inspections in production processes.
Participates in supplier nonconformances.
Communicate and clarify acceptable rework instructions and communicate to suppliers.
Takes positive action with supplier to ensure quality standards are met.
Recommends changes in manufacturing processes and supplier systems to improve product quality.


TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS:
Position may require travel within China. Long time separation with family may be required.
