Main Functions and Responsibilities
?Follow up with project execution plan and strategy
?Liaison with Merck Engineering and China design firms to develop conceptual, preliminary and detail design
?Liaison with local authorities during the entire planning, design and construction phase in order to obtain all necessary design, construction, and operating approvals
?Participate in qualification, bidding, and negotiation process for technical terms and conditions with suppliers and contractors
?Follow up on the specification, fabrication and timely delivery of locally sourced equipment and materials
?Manage the construction site in terms of safety, quality, and progress
?Assist on facility & equipment commission, start-up and (GMP) certification
?Assist supervisor to monitor the budgets and time schedules
?Assist supervisor to support all Merck Millipore manufacturing plants and labs in China on engineering and small CAPEX projects.

The Project Engineer reports to Head Engineering and Technical Maintenance Merck Chemicals China - Associate Engineering Director.

Qualification:
?University Degree in Pharmaceutical, Biopharmaceutical, Biochemical or Mechanical Engineering
?5-7 years working experience in engineering functions within the pharmaceutical Industry, and at least 2 years experience in capital investment projects
?Eexperience with design and certification of GMP facility & equipment
?Chinese national
?Good English communication skills both in speech and writing
