Duties & Responsibilities
The role is responsible for the operational delivery of IT Support at the Protean Tianjin and Shanghai sites. IT Support ensures the smooth day to day running of computer systems and ensuring users get maximum benefits from them. The IT Service Desk is the central point of contact for all IT related incidents and service requests. IT Support staff work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment which provides services over the phone, through email, or in person and self-service.
Application Support Analysts support IT services delivered to users within an organisation, enabling the required business processes needed for the business to be successful. Developing and enhancing Protean’s use of Information Technology systems ensuring the smooth day to day running of computer systems and ensuring users get maximum benefits from them. The Applications Analyst will work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment which provides services over the phone, through email, or in person and self-service.

Key Responsibilities include the following:

Implementation, support and development of the major IT Software Applications
Software Development
Electronics
Mechanical Design
Electro magnetic Design
Wikis, Ticket Managers
Business Intelligence
ERP – Enterprise Resource Planning
SQL Server
CRM – Customer Relationship Management
EPDM – Electronic Product Data Management
SharePoint – Document Management
Engineering Software Platforms
Working with internal and external providers for the life cycle of the Applications
Monitoring and maintaining applications systems
Logging employee queries
Monitoring the applications performance
Analysing call logs to spot trends and underlying issues
Setup, management and reporting of appropriate security controls for the corporations applications
To assist with work on the general support duties of the IT team.
Testing and evaluating new technology
Ensuring all software purchased licensing is recorded and maintained
Any other relevant duties and tasks as fall within the scope of the role and/or skills and experience.

Due to the nature of the work you may be expected to work out of hours or be on call. It may be necessary to work extra hours to finish a job.

Experience of CRM, PDM, SharePoint - though training can be given
Working in an Engineering or Manufacturing environment
