Main Duties and Responsibilities


1 Analyze market and delivery systems in order to assess present and future material availability



2 Benchmark performance of the supply chain. Continuously monitor, evaluate and improve supplier performance



3 Establish terms, pricing, quality requirements, delivery, and contracts



4 Develop sourcing strategies. Responsible for all new and passive product sourcing and pricing



5 Deliver cost saving for the company. Control the purchasing budget



6 Oversee department activities and provide directions on daily operations



7 Responsible for vendor selection, approving vendor and price negotiation. Resolve vendor or contractor grievances, and claims against suppliers. Verify vendor's invoices and approve for payment



8 Responsible for cost-down and localization of parts without any compromise in

quality



9 Sourcing to support affiliates



10 Planning of manpower, interviewing and hire staff, and oversee staff training




The Successful Incumbent

1 A diligent, self-motivated, pro-active manager with a positive attitude, who is looking for an opportunity to make a big difference.

2 Possess a track record of achievements and a proven ability to manage the vendor/supplier base to improve quality, reduce lead time and cost wherever possible.

3 Results-driven and take initiative to develop effective solutions to supply chain challenges, whilst having an active and dynamic approach to work and getting things done efficiently and effectively.



Qualifications

1 Possess at least 3 years of working knowledge/ experience of China purchasing practices. Candidates with relevant experience in machine tools industry will have an added advantage.

2 Preferably possess a Degree in Mechatronics or Mechanical Engineering.

3 Preferably a Singaporean or a Malaysian who must be fluent in written and spoken English and Chinese.
