Job Summary

Katerra is a fast moving, innovative startup company. The Global Commodity Management team’s job is to help them find, select and get great deals with suppliers to enable them to develop and scale products — fast. we’re looking for people with strong influencing and customer service skills who are comfortable navigating ambiguity, collaborating with multiple teams and building strong relationships with stakeholders. We expect each individual to own what they are doing and lead the activity rather than be told to. In this role, the individual is responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies as well as recommending product innovations based on improving technology. The position requires an interest in market dynamics and competitive behavior, negotiation and pricing, manufacturing processes, and risk mitigation.

Job Description
? Understand the sourcing procedures, and execute flawlessly.
? Take ownership and be responsible for internal demand clarification and alignment with the stakeholders. Collaborate across the Katerra organization to ensure business objectives are met. Includes the ability to rapidly synthesize and communicate findings to senior leaders and to proactively identify potential supply issues that can affect product strategy.
? Develop a sourcing strategy to meet business need, and get internal customers buy in. Have a nuanced understanding of the commodity landscape in order to forecast industry trends and gauge emerging competitive forces. Identify changes in buyer and supplier power within core materials markets and leverage competitive dynamics to Katerra’s advantage
? Execute the sourcing strategy and drive the sourcing decision to be made cross different functions. Be liable for strategy revision as per business need.
? Own supplier relationship and be escalation point for different issues which the is raised by other function team.
? Lead new supplier qualification and new product introduction
? Effectively interface with suppliers to negotiate optimal terms for sourcing. Understand the tradeoffs between cost, volume, and quality in order to strike agreements that meet Katerra’s performance criteria and secure long term supply continuity.
? Optimize global supply chain performance through cost and scenario analysis, and benchmarking. Prioritize supply lead time reduction and enhance competitiveness of Asia source. Develop an in-depth understanding of value-added manufacturing processes and costs, reverse logistics, and market intelligence, and apply this knowledge to influence sourcing decisions.
? Assess and mitigate risks to the business. Manage global supply chain disruptions in real time with the support of an international team.

Basic Qualifications
? Bachelor’s degree or above in Business, Operations, Supply Chain Management or related field
? 7+ years of direct experience in sourcing and supplier/supply chain management

? Global supply chain experience managing cross functional teams in Multinational Company
? Knowledge and experience with Continuous Improvement and Six Sigma methodologies
? Knowledge of basic supply agreement construction; understanding of key contracting provisions/requirements
