Success Profiles for Support Engineer positions
General requirements:
A support Engineer will be expected to provide frontline service to customers. To ensure customer satisfaction, they will identify solutions that best fit customers’ needs and determine the complexity of the problem and address tasks accordingly. The role requires r excellent customer service and troubleshooting skills, and is coupled with your previous experience to proactively take ownership of issues from root cause to solution. Strong collaboration is required with colleagues and customers, maintaining efficiency levels and attending to requests in a timely manner. Strong team spirit and implement ability.
The nature of the role requires successful candidates to clearly communicate in English to the internal stakeholders at CA Technologies. So as well as having strong native speaking capabilities, the ability to communicate effectively in English –(particularly in written form) is essential.
Candidates who are successful generally have the following capabilities:
Experience:
2-4 Years’ experience within a technical role supporting operating systems such as Unix, Linux, Windows or Infrastructure management for medium to large enterprises.
Preferably candidate should have worked in a support environment with exposure to production support/customer interaction on phone, working on incidents/queues etc.
Skills Required:
Soft Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and good written, communication English skills.
Must be energetic and a positive attitude.
Candidate should have a natural passion towards support and should have a genuine flair towards customer delight.
Excellent team player with an ability to work under pressure, multitasking capabilities, quick decision making.
Be familiar with Windows, Linux and Unix system.
Be familiar with Database, such as MS SQL, MY SQL and Oracle.
Education:
Generally candidates have tertiary qualifications, or relevant field experience in medium to large enterprises.
Bachelor degree above
