JOB PURPOSE:
The overall aim of the Technical Training Engineer is to assist the Technical Training Manager to train and develop our sales and service employees to the minimum standard level 3 competency i.e. individual effectively demonstrates knowledge and applies skills.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist manager in identify training and development needs for sales and service employees.
Assist manager in implementing and following up training programs that are in line with the Sales area market plans with a special focus on China.
Deliver technical and sales training programs.
Assist in developing the technical training programs and material.
Coordinate various technical and sales training programs in the sales area.
Organize and update training materials / courses.
Assist manager to plan, organize, monitor all aspects of training including course development, content, implement and assessment / follow-up.
Track and maintain all the technical training records
Liaise with PA training / global training / competence development personnel as necessary
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES:
Able to train and develop people
Consultative - Be able to work together with process owners and subject matter experts
Technical knowledge - understanding of mining equipment, tools, applications etc
Sales Knowledge - understanding of sales process / selling skills
Pedagogic skills - Understanding adult training
Training skills - Being able to lead training, run workshops with 5-20 people
Language - Fluent in English and Chinese both, verbal and written
Ability to work as part of an integrated, broad team.
Flexible, self-motivated with demonstrated initiative.
Time management and organizational skills.
Ability to work unsupervised
Excellent interpersonal and communication / active listening skills
Ability to train and transfer information to others.
High level of initiative, drive and determination to achieve goals and targets
Willing to travel as necessary
EDUCATION&EXPERIENCE:
Likely to have sales engineer / technical specialist / trainer role today with a degree in engineering / technology
Have more than 6 years' experience working with an international heavy equipment or mining industry company or other relevant engineering industry
Strong technical experience and credibility within the company or industry.
Exposure to training and facilitation will be an advantage.
An understanding of the mining industry.
Understanding of Mine Health and Safety Regulations is required.
Knowledge of and experience with any Sandvik Mining or Construction product range would be beneficial.
