1. Purpose of the job
This function will require an initial working period in Lommel of 3-6 months and after this period frequent
visits to Lommel and the other ZFWP plants.

2. Major accountabilities
1. Lead the standardization & improvement of the complete Q calibration system and instruments for manual measurements at optimal cost & effectiveness across IW;
2. In charge of the calibration procedures and calibration system for all QA and QC instruments, equipment and machines, from dial gauges and torque tools to CMM’s and multi-megawatt test benches;
3. Will be the specialist in determination of measuring uncertainty of QC instruments.
responsible for the standardization of manual inspection instruments used in production gears, castings, assembly, test… : from selection, development of specific instruments, measurement system analysis and Gauge R&R improvement to user instructions, including temperature compensation and instructions for periodic verification on the shop floor;
4. Coordinate the development & maintenance of QC/QA calibration procedures and user instructions for manual instruments & training material;
5. Follow up market & developments in relevant areas; maintain contact with ZF, ISO, FVA, ...
6. Lead (dotted line) a team of plant calibration staff of all ZFWP plants to organize / plan / delegate input for IW procedures, MSA improvements, training material… and to ensure adherence to agreed standards;
7. Support & audit plant calibration of all ZFWP plants with expert knowledge,supporting selection & usage introduction of new instruments, calibration tools and software / Co-monitor technical status of these instruments is also part of responsibilities;
8. Maintains all applicable files and documents;
9. Identifies and promotes opportunities for improvement with regards to job function or otherwise;
10. Other responsibilities as assigned by supervision.

1. Challenging attitude to existing calibration procedures and selection / use of manual instruments: focus on continuous improvement, standardization and cost-effectiveness; ability to compose clear calibration and operating instructions and procedures;
2. Good motivational skills (non-hierarchical leadership);
3. Good communication skills (English), both verbal and written, to all levels in BU;
4. Prepared to travel 10 - 20% of time;
5. Inspection skill is preferred;
6. Familiar with automotive industry standard of ISO/TS – advantage.

4. Technical Competencies & Skills
Senior engineer with deep technical and practical knowledge of manual measurement instruments and calibration of a wide range of instruments and equipment; good knowledge on standards on measuring uncertainty, MSA, calibration and calibration database software.

1. Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical engineering;
2. 3-5 years of wind power or automotive industry related Quality Management Experience.
