HSBC Operations, Services and Technology is a pivotal part of the Group, providing essential operational and technical support to our global businesses and helping improve customer service and efficiency. HOST combines global expertise and technology to help keep us ahead of the competition.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.

In this role, you will:

The job holder is responsible to,

· Ensure appropriate management governance and controls are in place in the country.

· Ensure appropriate oversight of operational risks so that Head of Operations is able to demonstrate entity and regulatory demands are being met or issues escalated.

· Ensure best practice and global initiatives are executed across all operations sub-functions in the country and that optimal solutions and approaches are being implemented.

· Support the Head of Operations by producing MI and reports to meet local needs, sourced from the global metric and reporting framework.

· Overall responsibility for - alignment to the blueprint(s) within country.

· Overall responsibility for the Business Planning Process in the country.

· To lead/coordinate any ad- hoc activities and programmes as directed by Head of Operations or Regional CRAO..

Specially, all the governance support should be driven effectively through the widening network and crucial regulatory environment as below:

1.There are 178 outlets in HBCN as of today out of which 93 outlets have Operation presence located in 56 cities. Our Business Service support not only to Global Business but also with the governance to 12 China Rural Bank. With the widening coverage of network management in China, it's very crucial to maintain the CRAO onshore to ensure all aspects of governance are in place across the jurisdiction of Head of Operations.

2. China has very complicated/stringent regulatory environment along with kinds of economic reform but not fully opened capital market, under which there are averagely 412 regulation update related to Operation and 75 on-site regulatory inspections every year. Also as mentioned above, we have broad geographic management across 56 cities, the regulatory requirement might be different from city to city. The role of CRAO is quite essential to maintain the consistent governance model to avoid any regulatory breaches.

Qualifications

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

KNOWLEDGE

• Detailed understanding of the diverse business areas that comprise Group Operations.

• Full understanding of an operational environment.

EXPERIENCE

• Depth and breadth of experience in the banking industry is essential to equip the jobholder for engagement / negotiation on strategic issues with senior managers internally.

• Clear understanding of, and experience in, managing operational risk.

SKILLS

• Communication – the ability to communicate complex issues concisely.

• Analysis/strategy – the ability to analyze complex issues and identify / assess the long-term, strategic implications for the Bank and its customers.

• Excellent relationship management and influencing skills.

• Well-developed project management skills.

• High degree of drive and motivation – to ensure delivery of objectives in a timely, efficient and effective manner.

• Commitment and contribution to the overall team performance.

• Strong leader and positive role model.

• Ability to lead, motivate and develop individuals within a team.
