IT Production Coordinator – DBA & ETL

The job purpose is responsible for Database Administration and configuration of Extract Transform and Load processes within the different reporting solutions integrated with M3/Movex and System21 ERP solutions. This role reports to Development Team Lead Reporting. Below please refer to the job description:

General Objective:
？ As an IT Production Coordinator – DBA & ETL you will support, maintain and improve the backend of several reporting solutions that are used by 2000+ users worldwide. You will work together with colleagues and business partners from all over the world to deliver high quality solutions.
Key performance areas:
？ Configuration, monitoring and maintenance of data replication (ETL) processes.
？ Installation and configuration of new SQL servers and databases.
？ Ensure database monitoring, maintenance and backup procedures and utilities are in place.
？ Ensure that new database code meets development policies and principles for readability, reliability, and performance.
？ When performance issues arise, determine the most effective way to increase performance including hardware purchases, server configuration changes, or index/query changes.
？ Regularly provide developers a list of the most resource-intensive queries on the server and suggest ways to improve performance on each.
？ Design indexes for existing applications, choosing when to add or remove indexes.
？ When users complain about the performance of a particular query, help developers improve the performance of that query by tweaking it or modifying indexes
？ Troubleshoot SQL Server service outages as they occur, including after-hours and weekends.
？ Document the company’s database environment.


Your profile:
？ A minimum of two years of experience in database development, administration and support in Microsoft SQL Server environments.
？ Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, connectivity issues, security issues etc.
？ Ability to detect and troubleshoot SQL Server related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resource contention.
？ Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
？ Strong knowledge of how indexes and statistics work, how indexes are stored, how they can be created and managed effectively.
？ SQL Development – ability to write and troubleshoot SQL Code and design (stored procedures, functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes, constraints )
？ Experience in implementing operational automation using scripts.
？ Good communication and documentation skills.

Desired skills:
？ Experience with the IBM InfoSphere Data Replication platform or other ETL applications is a strong asset.
？ Experience with System21 and M3/Movex ERP systems is a strong asset.
？ Experience with different database environments is an asset.
？ Knowledge of scripting engines like PowerShell and VBScript.
？ Knowledge of SQL Server tools (Profiler, DTA, PerfMon, DMVs, etc.) and components (SSRS, SSIS, SSAS, etc.).
