Risk

Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, operational, credit, pension, insurance, compliance, regulatory, market, reputation and geopolitical risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.

In this role, you will:

The jobholder is responsible for managing the credit policy to achieve risk reward balance for personal loan portfolio and support business growth within risk appetite. Detailed job tasks include:
- Develop underwriting policy, portfolio management strategy and collection strategy
- Oversee policy implementation process to ensure proper execution in terms of both system automation and manual processing
- Track portfolio performance to validate policy effectiveness and fine tune policy based on performance
- Execute policy test (acquisition acceptance relaxation, portfolio champion/challenger test) to enhance risk/reward tradeoff
- Execute portfolio management program, eg. top-up, cross-sell, to improve revenue with acceptable risk
- Develop scorecard with Analytics team and develop/implement scoring policy (eg. Cut-off setting)
- Monitor scorecard performance and stability, initiate scorecard recalibration & redevelopment process

Qualifications

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

University degree in a relevant discipline
At least 5 years’ relevant working experience in retail risk management area
In depth knowledge of retail credit risk with a good understanding of policy framework
Well-developed analytical skills, with proficiency in data analysis using statistical or database packages (e.g. SAS, SQL, VB, Excel)
Proven experience in team leader role and project management skills
Highly motivated mindset, with the ability to work collaboratively with various Customer Groups and external parties (including regulators) to deliver assignments on time
Excellent MS Word and PowerPoint skills
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
