Job description
This position is responsible for the ongoing development and maintenance of a Rich Internet Application (RIA) serving a large, global user base. The Developer must be capable of complete round-trip development from UI to server-side to the back-end database layer while utilizing several technologies/frameworks. The developer will work closely with the rest of the Development Team, System Administrator and Database Team in a rapidly changing, rewarding environment.
Responsible Products:
This development position provides the on-going support, enhancements and new features for a web-based, global, business-intelligence intranet application with over 5,000 users.
Major activities:
Develop and implement new features
Improve/maintain existing features
Investigate, locate and fix coding defects
Write complete documentation, including in-code comments and design documents
Provide on-demand support for clients as needed
Communicate with business and technical experts to understand and incorporate new features
Leverage and adapt various Open Source technologies as needed
Understand and apply OOP design patterns
Collaborate with Database Team on application SQL and database design
Normal/flexible office conditions, frequently exposed to irregular work hours
