Main responsibilities:

- Direct coordinates and exercises functional authority for planning, organization, control, integration, and completion of mechanical and electrical engineering projects

- Improve data security, reliability and access

- Resolve cost pressures by directing department activities to source in China/ Asia

- Direct department activities to improve production techniques and develop test procedures

- Analyze technology trends, human resource needs and market demand to plan project

- Confer with management, production and marketing staff to determine engineering feasibility, cost effectiveness and customer demand for new and existing products

- Forecast operation costs of department and direct preparation of budget requests

- Advise management of how sourcing in Asia affect profit, schedule, costs, customer relations and /or inter-department relations

- Provide direction and example for interpretation and application of company policies and procedures to the engineering activities

- Maintain a working knowledge of new technologies which may improve operations and develops recommendations accordingly

- Maintain a working knowledge of safety policies and regulations to ensure duties of self and other are performed in a safe manner

Educational qualification:

University degree (in mechanical/automation or related subjects)

Working experiences / skills:

Have worked in electrical / mechanical engineering production environment, where the following skills have been obtained:

? Managerial, supervisory and scheduling skills

? Strong mechanical engineering expertise

? Knowledge of documentation systems

? 3D AUTOCAD experience

? Strong mathematical skills

? Data base management

? Have been exposed to different areas (look beyond the core area)

Languages: Good in English and Mandarin (both spoken and written)

Personality:

? Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

? Stable, reliable and highly initiative

? Able to act successfully in a stressful environment
