About the client
Our client is an European JV which strives to become the leading manufacturing company specializing in (shape memory alloy) SMA-Actuators. An opportunity has arisen for VP Operations APAC to contribute to its rapid business expansion in APAC.
About the role
Job Title: VP Operations APAC
Report to: CTO & CEO (in Headquarter)
Location: Taiwan, Joint Venture + Mainland China (to be established)
Main Responsibilities
As the VP Operations APAC, you will be accountable for end-to-end effectiveness, delivery and value-generation of operations in the JV. You will be expected to perform, but would not be limited to the following responsibilities:
- Being responsible to transfer the production processes from the current organization in Taiwan to the new entity in China (to be established). Taiwan can be seen as R&D center, which develops the prototype whereas the Chinese entity will be responsible for the mass production
- Identifying and assessing possibilities of contract manufacturing (in particular during the ramp-up phase in China)
- Leads the strategic development, expansion, and optimization of production and process activities in Taiwan and mainland China, aligning to the strategies of the Headquarters
- Manages the technical transfer including processes from the parent company in Europe to the entities in Taiwan/China
- Overseeing production as well as supply chain related departments
- Plans and controls the budgets and manage the day-to-day operations activities
- Drives and ensures the improvements and problem solution of production and process
- Balances work cell capacity/loading across the plant
Qualifications & skills required
- Bachelor degree or above, in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering or equivalent
- Minimum 10 years’ of working experience in production management within the electronics industry
- Experience in micro-assembly (high precision, such as camera, electronics, watches etc.) is highly welcome
- Experience with contract manufacturing is a plus
- Proven leadership: influence stakeholders across all levels; interact and drive performance with stakeholders at various levels in the organization
- Determined, assertive, strategic thinking with excellent cross cultural communication skills
- Proficient in English and German, Mandarin is desired
- Familiar with SAP/ERP
