Key Responsibilities:
? Fully implement Honeywell corporate HSE procedures and HOS in Luoyang testing facility.
? Cascade the HTSC-PMT’s goal and global R&D’s goal, and responsible for the KPIs set for Luoyang testing facility. Including HSE goals.
? Work closely with Callidus business team to support business BCC strategy by better alignment with ISC and project team. Aligns facilities R&D Applications project portfolio and activities with business goals and sales activities.
? Directly accountable for managing staff in the areas of (hiring, coaching, scheduling/delegating work, determining pay/promotions, and HPD/GCP ownership).
? Integrates Strategic Alliance Partner's (RuiChang) activities, customer contacts and development project portfolio into the broader facility's activities.
? Sets and monitors day-to-day and long term goals, activities and career paths of local technical staff manning the test facility pilot plant.
? Set and monitor the plant TPM plan and reduce the facility equipment/ electrical devices and instrument down time.
? Implementing best practices, like KAIZEN, What IF in operations in order to optimize testing operations through understanding and applying skills and knowledge in Statistical Process Control, Six Sigma in order to maximize asset utilization and produce low cost high quality combustion designs.
? Lead research and development projects in the area of improving combustion application designs and technologies, including planning, championing and delivering assigned programs on budget, on time and within the constraints of agreed scope and resources.
? Developing Financial plans for the facility to meet AOP and STRAP requirements for the team and the business.
? Understanding all the Applications testing procedures for combustion design testing, process equipment and control technology for combustion testing.
? Working closely with the technical advisors from our global technology and technical service organizations to ensure global compliance of testing protocol.
? Review and revise designs based on robust data collection from the testing facility.
? Collect, organize, and interpret data collected from the scale up and combustion manufacturing for continuous improvement.
? Ability to face customer to discuss the combustor designs and data collected to support these designs for the local market.
? Networking with other engineers at the R&D site, and the local/global technology and engineering teams.
? Implement Intellectual Properties through patents, trade secrets, etc, that will protect our combustion technology in China.
? Participating on and leading teams in his/her area of accountability as needed.
? Participate or lead root cause analysis of high impact process and quality related issues.
Key Qualifications and Skills:
? Bachelor degree and above with 8 plus years total experience. 5 plus years experience in chemical/petroleum industrial/manufacturing environment, plant engineering, technical and process preferred.
? Be familiar with DCS, can work on common process control.
? Be familiar with common chemical process equipment and instruments. Understand the common operations.
? With team leading experience, skills to dealing with the tough conflicts environment in team or with other functions.
? NPD and capital project management experience. Demonstrated success in developing applications technologies and approaches either in an individual or team setting. Six Sigma Green belt is preferred.
? Proactive approach to finding training opportunities for all levels of employees in various roles/functions
? Proven ability to gain cooperation from subject matter experts
? Understanding of technical challenges facing new hires/roles for wide variety of functions within HTSC-UOP R&D.
? Global mindset, cross cultural agility and resourcefulness
? Technical excellence and strong execution capability.
? Solid Modeling and Computer Aided Design CAD skill is preferred.
? Be able to operate in both English and mandarin environments
? Strong communication and influencing skills (both in English and Chinese)
? Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.
? Clear thinker, with “can-do” attitude
