Our client is a German based manufacturer of highly specialized machinery and equipment for metal processing. The company provides large scale plants in its industry, components and engineering consultancy services worldwide.
With a strong presence in China for many years, continuous growth and good development potential, the company is now searching for a General Manager for its operations in its new business field.

General Manager – Manufacturing Co. in Tianjin (Machinery)

- responsible to manage and develop the China team,
- coordinate the German head office support in order to optimize China operations and sales
  activities.
- Manage a staff of 40 people with 6 direct reports in Tianjin
- He / she is responsible to develop new and maintain existing customers in the metal
  processing field.
- The target industries for the company products include steel works, automobile industry,
  Aviation industrie, other metal processing and various specialized industries. - coordinate between China and German facilities, engineering, manufacturing processes and
  project matters.
- He/ she is responsible to develop local suppliers while maintaining the companies quality
   standards and keeping cost and timing under control.
- setting up of a Quality Inspection and train suppliers on quality requirements and standards.
- Management of the Supply Chain, -order administration for China projects and component
   projects for export.
- Responsible for budget planning and monitoring.


Requirements
- min. 6 years of management experience in machinery manufacturing business in China and
  min. 3 year similar experience in Europe.
- is required understand and communicate technical/ engineering issues in machine building,
  Drawings etc.
- Preferably degree in management or engineering
- Strong English communication skills-verbal & written, German and Chinese is a plus.

Language requirement
- English fluent,
- German and Chinese is a plus

Work experience
- Min 8 years
