Job Duties & Responsibilities
1. Identify and qualify new sales opportunities for the fish processing segment in China.
2. Maintain current customer base, and continually cultivate new customer relations
3. Demonstrate technical selling skills and product knowledge to customers.
4. Develop and maintain an annual sales budget for order intake and margin for assigned territory.
5. Develop an annual business plan, which details activities for reaching or exceeding the annual sales budget.
6. Execute sales by preparing accurate sales proposals, project documents, and presentations.
7. Travel as necessary to visit new and existing customers.
8. Document and maintain customer accounts, contacts, sales leads, and opportunities within the company's CRM tool, Salesforce.
9. Monthly forecasting of potential order intake and reporting of any deviation from previous monthly forecast numbers.
10. Accurately hand over sold projects to project managers and sales support staff.
11. Assist accounting and company support staff in project invoicing and payment issues.
12. Other sales related duties as assigned.
Key competencies and expectations
1. Willingness to travel throughout China to reach all prospective customers, and internationally to our locations for training and sales team meetings.
2. Good communication and presentation skills. Both Chinese Mandarin and English.
3. Self-motivated.
4. Results driven.
5. Teamwork – player.
6. Technical/production interests. Able to learn and adapt.
7. Ability research and understand market territory and customer base.
8. Ability to use office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, SalesForce, etc).
Requirements/Experience:
1. At least 2-3 years' experience in outside business-to-business sales of technical/ mechanical equipment. Or in the food business and understand production.
2. Previous sales experience within the food processing equipment industry preferred. Fish Processing/ Seafood industry a plus.
3. Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate professionally, persuasively and confidently over phone, e-mail and in face to face appointments.
4. Organized, with strong planning and time management skills.
5. Previous experience with managing a sales territory, including business plan development and market area research planning.
6. Commit to extensive travel within assigned sales territory (up to 65%).
7. Ability to travel outside the country for sales and training purposes as needed.
