POSITION SUMMARY
Assist with and, as needed, manage new equipment design and build, manage equipment upgrade / retrofit projects initiated or executed by the Service Team. Responsibilities include interfacing with the customer to fully document the project expectations, assisting with the concept and quotation development of mechanical aspects of the project, managing and coordination of the projects activities at ATC facilities and, as necessary, support of installation and project completion activities.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Must speak fluent Chinese and English
Position will be based in China, but candidate must be able to spend the first 6 months to 1 year in USA working at ATC.
Effectively communicate with ATC Automation customers, service and shop personnel and management
Evaluate design inputs and identify appropriate design outputs to meet project expectations
Conceptualize mechanical and controls systems necessary to achieve customer requirements
Assist in the quotation of new and upgrade / retrofit projects
As necessary, direct design review and acceptance activities
Use machine design principles including structural analysis and properties of materials to design fixtures, tooling and mechanical systems to meet project objectives
Use computer aided design / drafting software to generate assembly and detail drawings and bills-of-materials
Assist with and direct assembly and test activities
Make disposition on design output changes
Develop and maintain project schedules
Lead factory and site acceptance activities
As necessary, support installation activities at the customer’s facilities
Issue revisions to design outputs including changes to drawings, project specifications and deliverables
As necessary, set up and operate shop machinery, test and tryout equipment and assemble machine components

JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree
5-10 years of work experience in a related field and / or college level engineering classwork or technical training
Broad knowledge of mechanical and controls systems
General knowledge of material properties and machining and assembly processes

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend to floor
Exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally

VISUAL ACUITY: Near acuity with or without accommodation

HEARING ABILITY: Ability to monitor machine sounds to identify and diagnose

WORKING CONDITIONS:
50% office environment / 50% ATC or Customer’s manufacturing floor
Occasionally exposed to:
high noise levels from operation machines
physical hazards from moving equipment and machine parts
fumes, dust and mist, oils and fluids
extended periods of standing / walking on manufacturing floor

MISCELLANEOUS JOB REQUIREMENTS
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of administrative tools (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint, etc.)
Other job related duties as required
