Job Description

The Export Strategic Marketing Specialist is responsible for helping drive the strategic planning process related to Follow the Growth Initiatives which includes identifying high-opportunity markets, adjacencies, and/or segments and assist in planning for the organization's market entree and success. He/She will assist China Export Leader with market analysis and specific marketing projects. This requires a thorough assessment of customer and market requirements, new and existing technologies and current strategies. This individual must be able to analyze long-term market trends, customer needs, and evaluate competitive landscape in order to develop a business strategy that ensures ACS long-term success.

Specifically, he/she must:

Strategy & Planning
Support the ACS STRAP development & business analysis
Integrate inputs to develop distinctive product plans with outstanding financial outcomes; Be competent in microeconomics, finance, VOC, research and analysis and basic marketing toolkit [market definition and sizing, segmentation, value management, targeting and positioning, pricing].
Supports STRAP information gathering; Contributes information to marketing plans on their own accord;
Frequently contributes information and ideas to the strategy formulation process and to the production of marketing plans and budgets

Research and Analysis
Design and execute impactful market research studies; drive to conclusions and actionable recommendations for the business
Supports and sometimes demonstrates leadership in the information gathering process
Provides analysis support to “so whats” and works through the implications of analysis; Clearly communicates the findings and implications
Gathers and cleanses data for on-going and custom research projects to support ACS growth initiatives (high growth regions, new verticals, adjacent markets) through primary and secondary research methodologies.
Develops and maintain regional profiles of our market of interest in specific countries
Develops specific detailed analysis of target vertical markets (e.g. healthcare, pharmaceuticals, airports, etc) in specific geographies to provide strategic insight to our SBUs marketing leaders.
Supports the data collection and analysis needed for the vertical market led generation activities.
Develop and maintain macro-economic models used to predict and prioritize future growth areas
Conducting data and requirements analysis for specific projects such as supporting new offering developments
Monitor and report on market and competitive trends
Gather data on competitors and analyze their market share, offerings, verticals and geographical presence
Document and improve research methodologies and share best practices with others

Candidate Profile

Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Strong problem solving ability; rigorous and resourceful with a pragmatic approach - applying 80-20 rule and coming up with directionally sound logic to navigate through limited data situations
Experience in conducting secondary and primary research; competitive analysis
Identifying and understanding market and technology trends and linking them to business strategy
Understanding of microeconomics and financial concepts and linking them to business strategy
Strong financial and excel modeling skills, and excellent power point slide preparation
Ability to work effectively with senior-level executives and manage internal customer relationships
Strong interpersonal skills, maturity and good judgment and capable of communicating with a diverse range of individuals

Experience & Educational Requirements

The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 to 3 years experience in similar role. He/she must have a history of success marketing, strategic planning and product management. The successful candidate must possess proven marketing strategic, analytical and implementation skills.

An undergraduate degree in an analytical (e.g. economics, math, engineering, etc…) or technical discipline is required.
