Duties & responsibilities:
Main duties are described as follows. Other duties may be assigned as scope and client requirements of the position will be analyzed on an ongoing basis.
- Provide product/packaging consulting for products related in the retail industry
- Conduct research and benchmark for quality trends in product and product categories
- Responsible for set up KPIs and scorecards for team performance.
- Manage critical path & issues for client QA/QM plans
- Participate regular business meeting among client buyers and vendors.
- Act as liaison as needed between Customers and Client Managers to resolve any technology and business issues
- Should have strong technical knowledge/skills and knows the "tricks of the trade" that helps reducing unnecessary time lost or minimizing mistakes.
- Initiates improvement plan that streamlines cross-team work process. Continuous process improvement of the team.
- Considers customers to be the highest priority. Should communicate well with customers to meet and even exceed realistic expectations.
- Creatively drawn on resources from other sections to deliver high quality solutions to designated accounts.
- Should be able to perform job by analyzing complex information/situation. Identifies connections between issues to make a right judgement for decision.
- Always looks for ways to improve and promote quality. Actively participates and contributes to team improvement activities by sharing information/resources and technical know-how with team members.
- Strong ability to communicate with others by a good expressing and listening skills. Should be able to demonstrate a credible and appropriate manner in all situations with an appropriate tone.
- Effectively fosters the development of subordinates by drawing out a clear management objective with specific measurements. Devotes time and energies to facilitating the growth of subordinates. So as to establish a strong team in the organization.
- Should be able to identify situations and areas to improve customer services. Encourages, trains and coaches team members to perform higher standard. Tactful in all aspects. Have a system in place that measures result and drives everyone to commit to service excellence.
- Manages well and ensures planned jobs/tasks are completed on time even in times of conflicting schedule of equal importance.
- Should demonstrate a role model as having integrity, being fair-minded and being consistent and even-handed in delegating task to subordinates.
Job Requirement:
Basic Requirement:
- B.S or above.
- CET 4 or above, fluent in spoken English, Chinese (Mandarin and/or Cantonese). Ability to respond in English to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical standards and scientific journals.
- Knowledge of ISO9000, SA8000, GMP, and experience for vendor education (CAP follow up and verification).
- Basic knowledge in consumer products testing and sample inspection.
- Significant time spent at client sourcing office (ShangHai or Hong Kong).
- Excellent communication skill with client, vendor / factory and testing lab / inspection team.
- Over 10 years of work experience in manufacturing, QA or with 3rd party laboratory.
Preferred Requirement:
- Familiar with North America Toy, hardlines and electronic product safety standard and regulation.
- Over 10 years of work experience in manufacturing, experience working in the QA dept of a retailer or importer or trading company, such as MQE, Product Technologist, QA Technologist, experience with 3rd party laboratory preferred.
- Familiar with retailer sourcing process and QA.
- Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
Other skills and abilities:
- Basic General computer knowledge
- Good proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel
