Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. The team actively manages a varied and dynamic range of risk types, including security, fraud, information security, operational, credit, pension, insurance, compliance, regulatory, market, reputation and geopolitical risks. All parts of the Global Risk team use their skills, insight and integrity to handle established threats and those they see emerging, acting to protect and enable HSBC to deliver sustainable growth.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team.

In this role, you will:

• Assistant to ensure proactive approach is taken to identification of financial crime & regulatory risk change and potential impacts on GPB Business Model in region

• Development and continuous review for appropriateness of framework to monitor financial crime and regulatory developments impacting on GPB in region

• Assistant to drive the regional implementation plans to quantify impacts and implement actions to address, manage and mitigate impacts of regulatory changes on Global GPB.

•Develop and implement as required AML, CTF, counter proliferation, anti-bribery/anti-corruption and sanctions policies and systems that ensure that GPB’s exposure to financial crime and reputational risks is managed, in a practical and effective manner, including efficient and reasonable deployment of resources and an understanding of the business operations and needs.

• Supporting establishes and implement global standards and strategic policies in region to ensure GPB’s exposure to current risks and emerging arising risk is managed appropriately, in a commercially focused and practical manner

• Supporting works closely with relevant China Financial Intelligence Unit and Business Financial Intelligence Units to manage Risk and Compliance matters

• Reviews and assists in the effective deployment of the Financial Crime Compliance Assurance function in the region

• Maintain and observe all HSBC control standards and implement and observe the Group Compliance Policy, including the timely implementation of recommendations made by internal/external auditors and external regulators.

• Maintain awareness of operational risk within assigned portfolio and minimise the likelihood of it occurring including its identification, assessment, mitigation and control, loss identification and reporting.

• Support over all regulatory and compliance matters as they related to GPB FCC/RC/RC and the management of operational risk.

Qualifications

To be successful in the role, you should meet the following requirements:

• Bachelor degree or above, law degree preferred.

• Self-motivated and ability to work independently.

• Quick learner and good interpersonal & communication skills.

• 3 years+ experience in Compliance Risk Management together with business management, preferably from a Compliance team.

• Good ability of internal/external coordination and FCC & RC Policy/Regulaotry advice.

• Experience of dealing with regulatory matters and confident interaction with Regulators.

• Experience of interpreting and analysing a large volume of information and / or data and provide succinct summary for management.

• Experience of working within a matrixed environment preferred including reporting internationally.

• Ability to change, contributing to joining up with the other teams in Risk and Business within China.

• Fluent written and spoken English and Mandarin.

•Successfully complete Anti-Money Laundering and Sanctions training and post-course assessment, as required
