Tax and regulatory issues are on top of the mind for many companies operating around the world today. As a tax professional, you’ll help organisations and individuals to maximise their tax efficiency and manage their tax risks. You’ll achieve this through the advice you give to your clients on conducting proper tax planning, and helping them to fully meet their tax compliance obligations.

Taxation in a fast-paced business environment is exciting and intellectually stimulating. To meet the challenges, you’ll need to constantly develop your tax knowledge and research skills. As you progress, you’ll likely become specialised in certain specific areas of tax and/or industry segments.

Job Discription:

We are currently looking for individuals with interest and experience to join this exciting new team. A degree in real estate, urban planning or similar plus experience in key issues related to urban development, including real estate, planning, transportation, finance and so on are required.

Key responsibilities:

• Use own client network and work with the business development team to secure projects;
• Manage a team to undertake detailed research on specific sectors or industry drivers and deliver reports on time and within budget;
• Manage a team to prepare proposals targeting specific issues highlighted during meetings with clients;
• Oversee research and delivery of reports, including client presentations to senior government officials;
• Present proposals and report findings to clients, including senior government officials;
• Cost and revenue benchmarking to determine inputs for financial modelsl; and
• You will be expected to take a consultant's approach to deliver projects utilising our practice methodology to assess the key issues and according to our client's needs. You will be responsible for conveying pragmatic solutions to our client's through the use of written reports and presentations. The opportunity will be available for you to develop your responsibility in supervising, coaching, developing and leading teams and individual team members.

Requirements:

• University degree in real estate, urban planning or similar related qualification;
• Minimim ten years' experience with a reputable international professional/consulting firm in urban development, real estate market positioning, development zones, & etc.; or with a local or international developer or investment management firm. (Candidates with less years of experience will be considered for lower grade positions);
• Knowledge and experience in retail, hotel, education, healthcare industries would be a plus;
• Ability to oversee and review financial models performed by others;
• Professional qualifications of MRICS, CFA, CPA or MBA or equivalent;
• Excellent communication skills in both oral and written English and Chinese;
• Flexible, self-starter possessing intellectual curiosity;
• Ability to interact with executive levels of client and firm management;
• Effective project management, interpersonal and influencing skills are essential; and
• Flexibility to travel to out-of-town engagements.
