Fast Trak China
Fast Trak is a global organization, part of Enterprise Solutions, belonging to GE Healthcare Life Sciences Global Commercial Operations. The team consists of application scientists, supporting the Life Sciences BioProcess customers with Training & Education and Process Development Support. There are four Fast Trak centers around the world, including Shanghai (China), Piscataway (NJ, USA), Munich (Germany), Bangalore (India).
Founded in 2006, Fast Trak China is one of the four centers in different sites of the world.
Currently, Fast Trak China team includes 10 application scientists with expertise in chromatography, filtration, cell culture, production and regulatory. They deliver more than 60 training courses each year in Fast Trak China Lab or in customer sites. Besides, Fast Trak China team scientists applied their expertise to developed 20 scalable processes for biopharm industrial customers in 6 years. In addition to these, Fast Trak also provides consulting services related to process validation, help the local pharmaceutical manufacturers to improve their product quality control. To accomplish these services, Fast Trak China establishes five laboratories located in the 3rd floor of east building, Chinese Technology Center.

Role Summary/Purpose

GE is an equal opportunity employer, offering a great work environment, challenging career opportunities, professional training and competitive compensation.The lead application Scientist will be responsible to deliver Fast Trak classical and custom courses to improve the local customers’ capability regarding bioprocess development, research science and regulatory issues. Understand the customers’ training needs and cooperate with Fast Trak global training team to update the training content regularly. Collaborate closely with Fast Trak PD team to apply new techniques in PD projects. Consolidate different training moduls under one GE brand.

Essential Responsibilities

1. Deliver Fast Trak technical on-going training courses with the same global standard to add the value of GE products 2. Schedule Fast Trak training plan and distribute to relative internal and external people 3. Update Fast Trak training activities and potential business opportunities to commercial team regularly 4. Keep close cooperation with FT team in other regions to upgrade FT training content with the global technical trend and adapt the content to local situation 5. Organize the specific workshops to bridge the local biopharma with global regulations, including QbD workshops, Process Validation workshops etc. 6. Understand and satisfy the customers’ training needs through in-class training and the follow-up actions after training 7. Coordinate all different training events from Fast Trak and the other peer team under one GE branding 8. Cooperate with FT PD scientists to promote PD application case locally and globally 9. Help transfer state-of-art techniques to PD team 10. Involve to set up training plan for new PD staff 11. Be part of training team for one ES project before it starts to be transferred to local biopharma

Qualifications/Requirements

1. Masters or PhD in biochemistry, cell biology, biotechnolgy, Life Sciencess, chemical engineering or similar. Have several (>5) years of industrial experience in bioprocess development, scale-up, tech transfer or manufacturing. 2. Practical, hands-on, industrial experience and theoretical knowledge of the basic techniques used for upstream bioreactor operation and downstream purification of biopharmaceuticals (filtration, chromatography, centrifugation, etc.) at pilot or process scale. Good understanding of the basics of process economy. 3. Good presentation and interpersonal skills, self-direction, people-oriented, proactive, good planning & execution skill, sense of responsibility, fast learner and team player 4. Ability to catch up with the edge-cutting techniques applied in biopharmaceuticals. 5. Ability to handle sensitive customer relationships. 6. Fluent in English ( reading/speaking/writing)
