We require a high calibre structural engineer with relevant experience to carry out design appraisal of the structural aspects of a variety of Lifting Appliance and Materials Handling equipment for Industrial onshore as well as offshore applications.

The candidate will be expected to carry out design appraisal by performing independent calculations for variety of cranes such as Ship to shore / shore to shore container cranes, RTGs, deck cranes, gantry cranes, ship unloaders, etc. , and will also provide technical support to clients and surveyors regarding cranes, typically from design point of view.

Responsibilities:

• Design Appraisal of Lifting Appliances in accordance with various codes and standards such as FEM, BS, API 2C, EN13852, Lloyd's Register's code for Lifting Appliances in a Marine Environment, International standards, codes or regulations using first principle & advanced calculation methods.
• To provide an advisory service to clients and surveyors/ inspectors for lifting appliance
• To liaise directly with clients and other offices on lifting appliance matters
• To prepare all types of technical reports and correspondence

Requirements:

• A good understanding of structural analysis methods and techniques
• Bachelor degree in Structural/mechanical engineering, with 7~10 years experience of crane design or design appraisal.
• Proficient in modelling and analysis of structures using software such as ANSYS, NISA, NASTRAN, STAAD, etc.
• Good written and oral communication and IT skills
• Good interpersonal skills
