Role Summary/Purpose
The Senior Application Engineer will develop strategies that provide winning equipment configurations to address customer requirements for all products portfolio (Power Propulsion System, Dynamic Positioning and Automation). In this role you will coordinate strategies with GE Power Conversion design team and product line leadership
Essential Responsibilities
Act as partner and engineering interface to Sales and Commercial Operations teams to deliver a full systems (including power generation and distribution, protection, power conversion, motors and energy stores, control and automation) technical proposal ensuring the overall design meets customer, contract and regulatory requirements.
·Lead and coordinate technical proposals preparation: guarantee quality, completeness and timely responsiveness
·Represent GE and the product at customer meetings, maintaining a high level of business acumen and commercial awareness
·Visibility of pipeline and traceability of GE Power Conversion Marine opportunities/projects in China
·Maintain product and technology knowledge
·Maintain an awareness of international codes and standards
·Lead technical negotiation with customers, ensuring compliance with contract commitments and technical risk assessment
·Be responsible for the technical content of all proposals, working with the Commercial Operations and Design Engineering teams to win new orders
·Expected to cultivate strong relationships with their technical counterparts at our customers
·Verify that the critical technical customer requirements are met by our proposals
·Support bid approval presentations
·Support bid approval presentation and Project hand-off for project execution phase (OTR).
·Mentor Application engineers team to develop their product domain knowledge
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor degree majored on Electrical Engineering, Electronic Technology or related field.
-Ten (10) or more years of direct experience in Application Engineering in a Marine system business.
- Possesses a comprehensive knowledge base regarding automation and drive systems and/or Marine Electrical Propulsion products and engineering capabilities
-Willingness and ability to travel globally 30% of the time
English fluency a must
