Essential Job Functions:
? Develop quality plans for new, existing or revised materials and products to ensure quality in accordance with company and customer requirements.
? Develop and establish system procedures, inspection plans, quality performance trends, statistical plans, cost estimates and technical quality inputs to proposals.
? Lead material review board activities, failure analysis and initiate corrective/ preventative actions accordingly.
? Communicate customer, supplier and internal quality performance, trends and initiate corrective/ preventative actions accordingly.
? Initiate and support improvement activities involving design, inspection techniques, process/ procedure methods, tooling, cost and other areas involved in the control of material or product quality.
? Participate in the change control board activities, on behalf of Quality, for review and approval of design related documentation.
? Perform internal product, process and procedure audits to assure compliance to specified quality requirements and assist in the planning and coordination of audit activities, schedules and reports.
? Support receiving, in-process and final inspection activities and/or personnel to ensure product quality is maintained.
? Participate in evaluation and selection of supplier materials, processes and parts.
? Generates training materials and programs as required, and conduct training sessions to support quality system.
? Perform other Quality Engineering related duties or functions as assigned.

Education Requirements:
? Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
? 2-4 years experience as a quality engineer in an industrial manufacturing environment.

Other Skills/Abilities:
? Must be knowledgeable and experienced in ISO 9001:2008 quality management system requirements. Knowledge of ASME “V” and “UV” code preferred.
? Ability to create results through customer responsiveness and continuous process improvement. Lean/Six Sigma working knowledge and practical experience preferred.
? Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) preferred.
? Ability to perform with minimum supervision and work effectively with others in a team environment.
? Must demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills
? Manufacturing experience with casting, forging and machining preferred.

Williams Controls Suzhou was founded in March 2005 which is located in Suzhou Industrial Park. Suzhou is one of the most modern and good to living cities in China and it has a history of over 2,500 years. The size of the plant is 6,000 square meters with two buildings next two each other. There are 33 production lines and 185 employees in the factory at present.

The Suzhou plant makes electronic throttle pedals, pneumatic & hydraulic valves, joysticks, and sensors serving for heavy duty truck, buses, commercial vehicles, off-road vehicles as well as other specialty vehicles markets. There will be new product lines continue to set up in this plant as time going forward.

The plant has a high level of lean manufacturing which uses tools like 5S, one piece flow, poka-yoke, pull system, value stream mapping, U-Cell, visual management, kaizen, SMED, TPM, standardization and etc…This is one of the lean benchmarking facilities among this area. The plant is TS 16949, ISO14001 and ISO9001 certified. The plant was recently certified by Caterpillar, one of the key global customers, as the gold level supplier. It is a good recognition to the team in China towards the way to be the world class manufacturer.
